Any true Rockets fan should agree a Championship is a Championship and there's no such thing as an *asterisk. I dunno how many times I hear from a Non-Rockets fan that we only won our championships because MJ wasn't there. Even though he really was there for our second one. Either way it's BS to discredit any ring. Even the Spurs.
How is it tainted? Everyone is on equal ground. When the playoffs start, same rules remain. First team to win 16 games wins.
Every championship for the last decade has an asterisk on it because those teams didn't have to go through Hakeem Olajuwon to win it.
you can't rewrite history, it's a full playoff season that's all that matters. the Spurs went through the best of the best in '99 just like the Rockets in 94 and 95
Unless the play cleans up a lot before mid season, it will be tainted for me. The play is generally so bad right now it doesn't even look like professional basketball.
well of course it will. even the Lakers look atrocious right now and their fanbase is about ready to implode. they'll get Bynum back and win a couple games and they will be crying for the championship to be handed to them.
This guy played for the Spurs? There is no such thing as a championship with an asterisk. 66 games are plenty to determine the 8 best teams in each conference and once the playoffs start, anyone can make it (see: Knicks in '99)
