    Absolutely.

Kevin Pritchard took Channing "Soft" Frye and the right to eat Steve Francis' 30 million + contract over Randolph.

because chuck at least tries, works hard and wants to be better. Randolph doesn't care, he thinks he's the best

Well I wouldn't. Randolph is a guy that can get you 20 and 10 on any given night.

Totally sarcasm.... he is another overpaid undersized player on this team in my opinion.

Then why did the blazers give him away? They're a pretty decently run organization, btw. Not cheap.

My sarcasm meter is broken right now, but that was a good one. The funny thing is that there are people on this board that thinks like that.

They gave him away becasue hes a problem off the court and sometimes on the court. But theres no doubt he can ball and that hes a better player than Chuck.

    Again I say:

Randolph was one of your bolded dudes. That still leaves 19 PF's. Of those 19, 4 played on the same squad...so eliminate 2 of them (even though I'm sure Morey would take any of the 4 over Scola and Landry) and that still leaves 15 better starting PF's better than ours. Hence average....

And that's not even counting guys that you would be crazy not to think are better, like Al Jefferson.

Because they didn't want his negative attitude impacting their team full of youngsters, and they had to shed themselves of the "Jailblazer" image to get their fan support back. Lastly, he has a huge contract.

Put Hayes and Randolph on the market at the same time, and let them ask for the same amount of money. Most teams would not pick Hayes first. He is not a better basketball player than Randolph. He isn't even better than the two average PF's that play ahead of him.

Wow, this thread is pure gold!

Hayes has been called a "great player," "one of the VERY best defenders in the NBA", compared to Dennis Rodman, and also called the "reincarnation of Bill Russel." And now some people are seriously saying that they would choose Hayes over Zach Randolph...Lol. What's next, Chuck for MVP? Lobbying for Hayes to be named one of the 50 all-time greatest players in NBA history? How about honorable mention in the hall of fame...now?

I'll never understand the infatuation with below average to average players that some people have on this board. I don't understand the Hayes, Rafer, and Battier cult either. Then people can't understand why the Rockets haven't been out of the first round in forever. I give credit to those who realize the Rockets are not an elite team and need talented mutli-dimensional basketball players soon to be able to compete. I personally hope all three of the above mentioned players will be gone before the end of next season while we upgrade our roster.

My question still hasn't been answered though: If Hayes is so valuable then how come no other team wants him? They could get him for real cheap since he's 3rd string here.

LOL ... you must really think highly of Zach Randolph, if the natural progression from him is MVP and top-50 all time.

IIRC, Morey locked up Hayes thru a tough biding war with many other teams. :D

I'll ask again. How do you guys know other teams haven't shown interest? Are you guys getting info from the front office or ESPN?
