It's a completely accurate statement. We don't have talent to fall back on when we stop playing with heart and passion.
Untrue. This is another fallacy that people, including Rockets fans, need to stop perpetuating. This team has TALENT. Real talent. It's not just composed of "heart" and "grit" alone. Aaron Brooks is an extremely talented point guard. Trevor Ariza is a very talented small forward. Carl Landry may be undersized, but he has outstanding athleticism and is talented enough to pose a mismatch against most defenders he faces. Luis Scola possesses a lot of skill and crafty moves that didn't just develop out of his "passion". Even Chuck Hayes isn't an elite defender because of "heart" -- that is a talent. Chase Budinger looks like he could be a future All Star. Yes, none of these players have ever been to an all star game before, and it is even possible that none of them ever will. But don't give me that "we don't have talent to fall back on" BS. We have talent. You don't take the Lakers to 7 games without talent. Yes, there was plenty of grit and heart, but the fact is that the Lakers couldn't figure out how to stop Aaron Brooks. There is TALENT on this team. Stop spreading the lie.
Agreed. We have talent. And we also have grit. We beat Utah because we played hard, and just kept coming. They didn't have the focus or the intensity we had tonight. Although we have to admit we are undersized as a team. Er, we are undersized vertically, but we make up for it in stoutness.
