"plenty of first round picks" wth???? yeah, every team can have "plenty" of first round picks if we're counting to year 2020
While I would absolutely LOVE to get Gerald Wallace... the article pretty much lost all it's credibility when I saw "hoopsworld". Then any shred of credibility it had left was thrown out the window when the guy mentioned that the Rockets have "plenty of first round picks" to trade. The Rockets lost pretty much all (minus 1) of their trade-able first round picks when they gave one up to bring in Terrence Williams.
As much as this trade wouldn't happen, as it is a hoopsworld piece, I would love to have Gerald Wallace on this team. He's greatly improved his jumpshot over his career (if some of yall don't remember, when he first came in the league, there were probably many junior high kids who could hit jumpers more consistently than him) and that proves he has the kind of drive to succeed and excel. Secondly, he plays defense with a tenacity that's not exhibited by many players in the NBA, and I would LOVE absolutely LOVE to have that on this soft Rockets team. Maybe he'll rub off on some of our players, *cough Brooks, *cough Martin. Thirdly, he's a versatile scorer, even when he couldn't shoot the J, he found ways to put the ball in the basket and now that he has a J, he's even more dangerous. If we can get him at a reasonable price, then Morey: GO FOR IT
Maybe we could acquire Gerald Wallace by trade and make another move to acquire Chris Paul and Emeka Okafor. Sacramento could lend an assist with our acquisition of Wallace in return Brooks, and we can use our other assets to acquire Paul and Okafor. Paul/Lowry Martin/Lee Wallace/Budinger Scola/Hayes Okafor/Miller That's one hell of a team.
Gerald Wallace wouldn't excel here at Houston. Rick Adelman thinks he's as dumb as a rock and wouldn't give him any PT.
And why would NO wanna trade away their franchise player when they've won 8 straight and are fighting for home court advantage in the playoffs?
I never said anything about when or why the trade would happen. It could happen in the offseason. New Orleans is on the verge of being sold, we could help them get their finances in order and give them some young talent.
You serious? Any money Wallace, if he were to be traded here would start on his 2nd game. He brings to the table what the Rockets need. 1) Defense 2) Rebounding
