Pettit is an automatic loss. He gets negatively viewed around here. Every all time draft the team with Pettit gets knocked because he's over rated. He's viewed so overrated around here that he is severely underrated. That being said, it's nicely built. Reggie and Nash are great shooters to space. Artest is also respectable and a lock down defender. Pettit lacks the spacing i would love, you essentially have twin towers but with a 6'9 player. I also feel your lack of bc defense is an obvious need. I'd target a guard defender off the bench.

Dr. J was a really good help defender. Mediocre on the ball sure but was good at team defense. Stockton in his younger years was quite a good PG defender. Dirty but good.
Regarding Stockton, that's exactly what I said. But if he takes young Stockton he'll miss a lot of qualities that Stock developed later in his career. Dr. J...yes, but he played a lot of ABA years and later on NBA didn't have the elaborated defensive schemes of the later years. He would be a slight liability in this all-time thing.

That's fair. I adjust it a little for time period. His ABA years are hard to judge defensively. Those 76ers teams were quite good defensively though. Bobby Jones helps but I think Dr. J was quite good. Do you hold the schemes being simpler against someone like Russell?

I think you'd have to consider it for all old players, as basketball constantly develops. Nowadays you have athletic monsters running up and down, advanced plays with fake screens, etc. As you mentioned, Dr. J benefited from a great defensive unit that covered for individual mistakes. Russell on the other hand played as the anchor of his whole team, even had seasons being a player coach. So I'd think his ball-iq, knowledge of the game and instincts would've translated to the modern era.
