Now that Shaq's career is almost over, the NBA needs someone like Dwight Howard who draws the fans. This is great for the league.
so a tip-in is a dunk? then why do they say tip dunk and tip-in as if they are two entirely different things?
http://aolsvc.merriam-webster.aol.com/dictionary/dunk transitive verb 1 : to dip (as a piece of bread) into a beverage while eating 2 : to dip or submerge temporarily in liquid 3 : to throw (a basketball) into the basket from above the rim
Frankly, I'm surprised by the anti-Howard sentiment. I'm assuming it's either because he beat Green who is from Houston, or because some people say Howard is a better player than Yao.
Now Gerald Green can go back to the end of the T-Pups bench and keep on sucking. His 15 minutes are over for this season.
Why are some of you acting all picky over the Superman dunk Dwight Howard did? It was all fun and I thought it was great!
So one of the greatest "dunks" of all time, is one where the guy does not even touch the rim? Negro please........
tear drop? Dwight deserved to win. He made the contest fun and his dunks had the wow factor. But Dwight's superman dunk wasn't a dunk.
I thought both guys did a great job. I don't usually watch this event but I found it exciting and entertaining. The players, the judges, the banter made for a perfect package of sports entertainment. Well done!
I didn't realize there were such strict requirements to call something a dunk. Whatever it was, the Superman was damned impressive.
