i think what he meant was that they were the only white people in the suite. at least that's what i got out of it, cryptic as it was.
How come the refs will give Kobe the call at the end of an all-star game to send it into overtime (incredible considering that Jordan had just hit an amazing shot to give his team the lead) but not give Tmac an obvious call like that on his home floor? I'm so sick of this crap. Dirk can shoot 3's after the buzzer in the 3 point contest, and yet Tmac can't get a simple and obvious call. Let's face it, Lebron was not even CLOSE to deflecting the ball on that shot. It was all forearm, and it was obvious even in live action. The NBA, it's FAAAAAAAANTASTIC!
The league didn't want to extend it to OT, they wanted to get it over with and the players didn't protest the non-call as a result. Lebron confessed that he fouled McGrady in the post-game conference, but it's all good, it's a completely meaningless game anyways. Here's an interesting note: T-Mac's 36 ranks him third all-time on the list of All-Star players as far as scoring is concerned (only behind MJ and Rick Barry), of those top four, all received MVP or co-MVP honors, except for McGrady. Anti-Houston bias at work here again? You decide...
When Tony Parker entered the game the West was up by 14... when he sat his French ass down they were losing.
Yeah, apparently the league didn't care a few years ago when they robbed Jordan of a magical moment and gave Kobe a borderline call in the last seconds in a cherry-picking situation to force an unnecessary overtime. It's just humiliating for our guy to get obviously hacked in his own building and not get the call, whether the game means nothing or not. To the casual fan, it looks like Tmac threw up an airball in a clutch situation. Hell, maybe there would have been a great overtime. It just ruins the game to have it end on such an obvious no-call. Is it the NBA's objective to leave fans with a bad taste in their mouths?
This is funny stuff, http://www.latimes.com/sports/baske...eb20,1,2062944.story?coll=la-headlines-sports Tracy McGrady, appearing in the interview room with Tim Duncan, said the All-Star game belongs to the guards since "there's really no excitement to throw the ball to them [big men] down there," whereupon Duncan threw up his hands in mock resignation, got up and left. "Your game, it's effective!" McGrady yelled to the departing Duncan. "But it's boring." Former President George H.W. Bush sat courtside, a few seats down from "Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria and actor Jamie Foxx. ... Best-received act was Miami's Golden Oldies, a troupe of middle-aged men and women who danced to Kanye West's rap hit, "Gold Digger." ... After the East's starting five broke into a impromptu dance routine while being introduced, the West players decided they had to do one, too. "We were a little skeptical," said McGrady, "because we didn't know if Yao [Ming] would cop out on us."
Hey, they screwed up the quote. Here's the rest of what T-mac said: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailydime?page=dailydime-060220&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab2pos2
Ok, what is the deal with the ToyBox?? It seems to suck the life out of all that enter the doors... there was no NRG in the arena at all and this was an All-star game
For the ones like myself it was a dreadful game to watch!!! Why select centers and Power Forwards for the All Star Game if they are not going to play BASKETBALL. Just call the All Star Game 'Showcase of the NBA Star Guards'- see the greatest dunkers of all time! I can go to New York any day and see such a game played on the streets, because thats what street ball is all about!
its not the building and its not product ...it has to be the fans. From friday to sunday energy was equal to a flat tire
