Good call. I remember it being more of an "OooooooH-Laah-Jaaah-Waaaan". Why did they change announcers? That guy was great! He knew how to pump up a crowd. Ohhhh hijack.
Doesn't 2K stick to one cover guy for years at a time? I may be blanking, but I don't recall anyone other than Iverson or O'Neal being there. Paul had a godly season, no reason to take him off.
If they can afford Jordan I'm sure they'd do it. Jordan hardly shows up in video games. Remember "Player 99" that played shooting guard for the Bulls in NBA Live?
He's already the coverboy for the worst basketball game out, NBA '08. I would like to see Yao get the cover because in terms of the gameplay: NBA 2K = Yao (the new, best big man in the game) NBA Live = Shaq (almost time to hang it up)
player 99??? it was just "Player" and his number was 24 (nba live 97) Barkley was number 3.....and the back of the game said "nba live has shaq!" i think jordan's first nba live was 2000
I think Kobe gave Sony the exclusive rights or something, it's too bad NBA 08 sucks. If there's no Kobe then I want to see Lebron James on the cover, but you know Lebron, the only reason he has yet to be on the cover is because he's just asking for way too much money.
What are you talking about? 2K8 is easily the best basketball game out there and the gameplay is terrific. Hard? Are you serious?
eh, I had NBA Live 98 for the PC. It had a guy who's jersey was #99 and his last name Player. Barkley was in it as himself.
you know theres like 10 levels of "55" 10 prestige levels. Im guessing you guys aren't even prestiges lol add me on PSN. I'm about to be on my 2nd prestige
Chris Paul on the 2K8 cover was great. He wasn't the most glamoured star, but it showed that 2K knows talent when they see it. Just like their sports games. But with the recent news about the EA takeover attempt, 2K needs a marketing powerhouse. Someone that will make people buy their game just for the star on the front alone. Yao Ming - China would be all over that. Nongamers would buy the game that graced Yao Ming as the coverboy. Then, there are the stars that have enough marketability to sway kids that are on the fence about which game to buy: LeBron James Kobe Bryant Michael Jordan They need to have Michael Jordan in the game. Pay for his rights and gain a true competitive advantage. (see Mike Tyson)
