What do you expect? The guy never dunks. And when he does they suck.

True he doesn't dunk as much but some one who can dunk over Shawn Bardley, at least deserves a 91 if Ricky Davis is 93. Even tough he hasn't had an amazing one in a while he still deserves something more than 90. C'mon 2K.

Man this game is going to be amazing. Check out the new "Ultimate Fan Trailer" on IGN. One aspect of this series that makes it so great is how they add the "little things" that make this game whole. Check out near the end where one of the Refs actually get in the way of a player. Also, the collision animations are looking very nice. I think I just saw a no-call on a botched blocking/charge.

i was hoping after a year and a half of dominance by yao(yeah throw some injuries in) that they'd finally give him a good rating. gonna have to change that rating yet again. 92 isn't a bad number but it is when looking at the players around him. he's more dominant and just flat out better than amare, that's for sure.

In his magic days he easily deserves a 99 or 98, but now, when was the last time he dunked on someone? He still has the ability but I guess if he is not dunking at all, then maybe they shouldn't give him a high score there. Or else he might be dunking like mad in the game, which would be far from reality. I don't worry about that too much. :)

Here's all of the Rockets ratings that we know, and how they improved from 2K7's initial ratings.

    Tracy McGrady- 93 (+2)
    Yao Ming- 92 (+3)
    Steve Francis- 80 (same)
    Mike James- 80 (-4)
    Bonzi Wells- 80 (-1)
    Rafer Alston 79 (+2)
    Shane Battier- 78 (-1)

    - T-mac and Yao were underrated last year, it's nice to see them get some boosts.

    - It looks like they're taking a wait-and-see approach with Francis, which is a good thing.

    - I'm surprised and happy that Bonzi didn't get shafted. A one-point hit seems sufficient.

    - With Battier on team USA and the game's new "lock-down defense" I expected Battier to go up a point, not down

    - Rafer plus 2??? Wow. I'm happy, only because I can get a better draft pick when I trade him on my first day of the Association mode

(I really need an edit function)

    - Mike James was crazy overrated last year; it's good that they have him about where he should be.

I'm pretty sure Tmac's dunking will be at least at a 90 if not 91 or the lower end of the 92 tier. Worst they can drop him to is probably an 88, which is still more than sufficient for him to dunk MUCH more than he does in real life if anyone's concerned about that in the games.

Anyway, it's interesting to see how Mac and AI are now both 93s. Guess that's the de-facto rating for "yesteryear's superstars" so to speak. Personally, I think both our big guns are rated too low. Mac should have been somewhere around 95, with Yao the same or a point below. Not to hate on Yao, but that's just the way ratings work. All-around players like Mac are almost assured to have better ratings than one-position beasts like Yao.

Amare at 95 is a joke. He produces, but much of that is from Phoenix's system and Steve Nash's influence than his own ability. Take out Nash and Amare wouldn't be as dominating as he is with all the open jumpers and dunks he gets. He deserves no more than a 92 IMO.

Seems like overall they made the ratings change from superstars to stars and role players more drastic. Good call by 2k.

i just downloaded the live 08 demo. it's actually pretty good, i'm kind of impressed considering the crap they've put out for about 4 years. however, if nba 2k8 improves on 2k7 the way live improved, then it will still be no contest.

I havent tried the demo yet. Is Live08 better than 2K7? How do they compare? I never give Live a chance because I love the way the 2K games just feel like your playing a real bball game on TV.

    He can't wear it?
    Why?
He was wearing those white ties ( they're pretty ugly) and knees sleeves...
And he didn't wear sleeve on his left hand... :S
