You're right. Why even innovate anything? Let's just release the same game year after year. Seriously. Some of you people are very pessimistic. Updates to MyCareer. New MyGM immersive playmode. Vastly upgraded presentation. One of the largest graphical jumps we've ever witnessed. THIS GAME SUX.
And all of my 3s in 2k13 are now long 2s with feet on the line in 2k14. Even with my midrange set to zero. Costing me points here.
You add this kind of stuff only after the game is already balanced out and pretty much perfect. Servers are awful, Online Association is unplayable, teammates AI in MyCareer is laughable, the passing system needs to be revamped, etc. What do in-game interviews innovate and bring new to the table?
are there any chance of them improving the dynasty mode? Maybe lottery protected draft picks in trade
Pretty cool low quality video. Get a good look at some Rockets! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-VEhK2Unuc
"MY GM" is The Association on steroids.. http://www.operationsports.com/features/1726/nba-2k14-mygm-developer-diary/
I think both sides are right about 2K. I like that they're trying new things. The 2K team seems really great when it comes to innovation. Great ideas. Unfortunately, their execution leaves a lot to be desired. They tend to throw out a ton of great ideas, but do a half-ass job of implementing them (and rarely spending time to get them 100% right). That's been my biggest complaint about the series over time. I noticed some issues in 2K14 PS4 that I could swear were in 2K6 for the 360 at launch (maybe even in the PS2/XBX version of the game). The interview stuff reminds me of the post-game conferences, which is kind of cool, but poorly done (it gets old really quick, and it usually just a chore to get through). I am somewhat worried that the half-time interview stuff might end up like that, but again, I do like the idea.
If people were always just "satisfied" there would never be any innovation. But the points Croatian Sensat said were all true. There are several little bugs during gameplay that still hasn't been fixed for the past few years. It's okay to be a fan of franchise and also criticize it too if you feel they could be better. If you can't admit that there are mistakes with the game then you're just a blind fanboy.
They've been improving every year. Career mode AI from the beginning of MyPlayer to now is vastly improved. Its not a bad thing to criticize, its just ridiculous to expect too much innovation from a yearly release...
Yes true but calling the in game interviews "AMAZING" is exaggerating a bit much. It's just a gimmick that doesn't improve game play and will become tedious the more you play (i.e. GM sitdown and post game press conference).
I prefer flash and gimmicks over barebones gameplay only. The goal of these games is to simulate real life, including presentation. I mean NFL 2k5 is heralded still because of their amazing presentation compared to Madden series.
Just sent my 360 version of 2k14 in to Amazon for the Xbox One version. Really looking forward to the next-gen version.. 43 gigs. So awesome.
Got my ps4 nba2k14 already, just waiting for the console. Only thing that is odd about the half time interviews are the players hold their hips with their knuckles but I can get over that, it's still pretty awesome. Can't wait.
question, MYGM mode allows you to play each game like you would in a season right? It's not strictly a GM simulation where all you do is make business decisions?
