anybody have a list of post moves or anything? im trying to do different moves with yao but most of the time all he does is the hook shot. i'd rather do the shanghai shake and jumper or fadeaway jumper. i guess i'm use to my old 2k9 buttons where sides on the rs would be jumpers and back would be fadeaway
I was drafted at 10 by the Pacers. But they sucked, and were 1-9 after 10 games. I asked for a trade and got traded to my first choice the Thunder ( second choice was rockets, but they are stacked at PF, and I do not want to push Scola to the bench). The thunder are much better, and are winning some games. I'm still 6th man, but I finally got to play the final minutes in a close game. I'm averaging 6 points and 12 rebounds.
Decided to restart after some problems, made a 6-7 Athletic SF. I got drafted by the Grizzlies with the 28th, and while my reaction was NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, it's actually been real fun. We're 11-5, and all the members are actually pretty good (except Mayo, but he's injured). Only problem is that I'm generally playing PF with Gay at SF, but it's been okay and I've been putting more points in more PF stuff like strength.
Center is impossible, I can't get up and down the court fast enough to get good positioning because John Wall runs the fast break so much.
Damn, I just ran into a nasty bug. After a game and before a press conference in My Player mode, the game freezes. Doing some google searching, people say if you don't make player of the game it might not freeze. Some people report removing all game files except for your MP one. Super frustrating b/c I play 12 min quarters, and it sucks to sit there for an hour playing a game, and then it freezes.
I keep trying to like this game. I've put probably 5 or 6 hours into My Player mode. And I'm sorry, but this game is terrible. What the heck is all the hype about? I was the biggest NBA2K fan in the world going back to the original on the Dreamcast. All the way through 2K9. Then all of a sudden, in 2K10 (and now 2K11), all the precise control was gone. Now players seem to skate around the court on ice. The game often dictates where I run before out-of-bounds plays. The game catches me in long animations that I didn't even initiate. The animations are cool-looking, graphics are good, presentation is good, etc. But the control, or lack thereof, is making me wonder why I bothered; 2K9 and 2K8 are both better games than this gameplay-wise. At least FIFA is awesome. But two straight years of NBA games that seem to control you more than you control them is kinda frustrating. I suppose NBA Jam will have to hold me over.
I feel like the player control is simply ridiculous, in a good way. Every single dribble move, every single post move, even the passing and shotblocking is at your fingertips, If you have practiced the controls enough.
I'm loving the game, And I'm getting the hang of al the controls. Durant is unbelievable in this game. I hope they will add the rockets 94-95 team. Drexlerfan22, did you ever finish that book you started to write some years ago (you poster the prologue IIRC). I wanted to attach a controller (PS3 dualshock). But for some reason it doesn't work. I use a XBOX360 controller and it works fine (I have window 7 and I plugged it in and windows 7 downloaded the driver without a problem). But for some reason the PS3 controller doesn't work. My pc does recognise it, and when I click on it in my computer devices it says that it works fine. Does anybody know what I should do. Did windows 7 download the wrong driver?
Oh really? Then please tell me what control do I have over these animations: 1) Running too close to another player causes the 'run around' animation. Even if your speed is fairly low, when you're close enough, you go around the player full speed. What if I had no intentions of going around that player? 2) When you're stripped, you have no control over the player. Instead you enter an animation in which you at snail's pace try to reach for the ball. One time was especially r****ded - I, the PG, am bringing the ball up. Jason Kidd slaps the ball out of my hands, my player enters an animation in which he falls to the floor reaching for the ball. Jason Kidd comes up with ball, 2 fastbreak points. Next possession - the exact same thing happens - the same animation, the same fall. What buttons did I press that caused my player to fall?
Nah... life happened, I just kinda got too busy. I don't think there's any way to get PS3 controllers to work on the PC. If there was I'd be all over it. Actually yes, I'm fine at the game. It just isn't any fun to play. Though, disclaimer, I'm not good at it like I was good at the previous iterations. Up through 2K9 I usually blew teams out by 50 or 60 playing on Hall of Fame difficulty. I can still win on HoF, bot they sure ain't blowouts. knote, eMat is zeroed in exactly on the kind of stuff I'm talking about. The game just does animations I have no intention of doing. To point #1, all the time, I will edge close to an opposing player on offense, and my player will "magnet" into the guy and get caught in this long animation of trying to go around the guy. I didn't want to go around the guy! More examples of BS: *I'm in the post on offense, and my team isn't passing me the ball. There seems to be no way to escape the post-up animation quickly; you're doomed to a 3-second violation if the game decides you are. *On out-of-bounds plays, if you're passing it in, often your teammates won't run anywhere near you to receive the pass, and it just gets intercepted through no fault of your own. *On out-of-bounds plays where you're receiving the ball, the game will seriously move your player for you. I had one instance where I wanted to run closer to the inbounder to be sure it didn't get stolen (last few seconds of the game, up by a few points). But the game decided that I wanted to go backwards towards halfcourt. The computer chose that moment to pass me the ball, and the animation carried me about 6 feet into a backcourt violation when I was pressing in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION the whole damn time. WTF is that? A game should never presume to move me in the opposite direction from what I'm pressing. Never, ever. EDIT: *Similar to the issues above, I might be standing near the post and just press the stick a tiny bit to get about a foot of separation from my defender. Just a little reposition. Well half the time the game decides that means "do a scrambling sprint out to the 3-point line." What?
It looks like all the glowing reviews for this game were premature. I'm glad I held out. All those little bugs would annoy me to no end.
I haven't had any of the problems that Drexlerfan and eMat have had. The controls are very smooth and I don't get locked into animations like that, at least not that I've noticed.
I just got the game a few days ago, and the controls and animations feel even smoother than last year. Not sure what Drexlerfan is referring too -- the only animations that I've experienced that you don't completely control is when using the shot stick. If you use that, players will go into their own move depending on the situation. durvasa- not sure what you're holding out for, unless you're banking on EA sports coming through. I doubt this game is perfect by any means (haven't played enough yet), but I am impressed thus far and all the small bugs will be fixed through updates.
Wow I have had NONE of these issues. When I post up I can easily get out of the post to avoid the 3 second violation. Passing it in bounds and no ones come to intercept? WTF kind of crap is that? I think you have a dysfunctional copy bro.
I hope not because I don't think EA is dropping their game until April. They might as well not even release it.
