They over-did it. Sure you can't lead pass anymore which makes the game more realistic, but I don't like the fact how they jump passes from like 10 feet away...
It's not that the players have had their verticals increased. A developer at OS mentioned that they don't have different jump animations for players, so that's why Yao is able to block so many shots on this game because he's extra tall and can jump off the floor. We all know in Real life Yao's vertical is pretty nonexistent. I guess the next thing they need to do is so big guys like him don't jump so high like guards and forwards. You can't just crossover in one place and get past your defender, that's realistic. If you are just dribbling in one spot in the NBA you aren't getting past anyone. In 2k11 you actually have to move your man if you want to get past him. Once you get that you should be able to crossover guys with the right players with ease.
They didn't over do it. In 2k10, I can easily get a pass off into the paint for an easy score almost every possession.
Just out of curiosity, I played about half of a game (10 min quarters) on Hall of Fame difficulty (only half because the game crashed on me...awesome). I didn't really notice any unrealistic steals. I got some passes stolen, but all due to my poor play. I had 2 that were maybe close, but I think still reasonable. On one, I tried to pass out from Yao (down low) back out to a guard (think Brooks?), but I didn't notice a guard playing the lane. CPU didn't even have to move, ball went right to him. On another, I tried to pass the ball to Yao in the post, but it was stolen by the other center. But Yao wasn't even posting up or calling for the ball, so I could see that being a bad pass (defender wasn't sealed off or anything). On the other hand, I counted about maybe 3 passes that should have been picked off but weren't. Also seems like my AI teammates are a bit more aggressive too (Courtney Lee made a nice steal on one play) I'll play around with it some more, but still doesn't bother me all that much. Any videos that present how bad this could be? Maybe I'm just not seeing it much in my games. Another nitpick...I would have thought they'd fixed goaltending by now. Agreed. Haven't really played much with some of the new isomotion controls in 2K11, but in 2K10, I never really tried to get by the defense with them. Usually would use a play or a pick to create space or get a mismatch. If I had a big man on a guard, then I might try to put on a few moves and see if that works (sometimes did, though I kind of sucked at Isomotion, so probably could have done better). Unless it is like Aaron Brooks being guarded by Derek Fisher, I probably wouldn't expect these moves to work too much just by themselves...nor should they IMO.
You know, is anyone just having a problem with offense in general? I've been playing on My Player with 11 minute quarters, on All-Star - and I have never played a game where either team reached 80 or shot above 45%. I mean, I like defensive, but when I can afford to not even bother guarding Durant as he bricks wide open 3 after 3, I can't help but wonder.
WTFFFFFF!!! In my player i hit a game tying three to send it into overtime and am the leading scorer on the team yet i get no pt in the overtime and we lose! Asked for a trade to the rockets but got injured so couldnt get traded
i'm getting realistic stats in myplayer AND association playing 12 min quarters, superstar, simulation settings I dunno how why everyone is having so many problems.
Just started My Player. Was drafted 9th by the Jazz. Am a PG designed as a 3 Point Specialist. In the first game for the Jazz i somehow was playing alongside Deron Williams and CJ Miles. Who was playing the SF? I'm demanding a trade after my 5 mandatory games are up.
Getting better and better as it goes on. Just got my first triple double and I'm starting to shoot the lights out. For those of you struggling shooting the ball, try boosting up your consistency, it did wonders for my player. A couple bad things though.... 1.) There were times when I first started that a 6th man from my team would be on the floor. Not doing anything or playing, just standing there and taking up space. 2.) Shaq had 8 fouls and was still on the floor with my team.
Does anyone know if there's a way to edit Jordan's position to something other than shooting guard in the "Creating a Legend" Jordan My Player mode? I'd prefer to turn rookie Jordan into a pass-first point guard a la Penny Hardaway, and avoid the 80 "excessive calling for the ball" penalties/game. (Didn't see this mentioned, but only skimmed most of the thread.)
I'm playing the My Player mode. Can anyone give me hints on how to slash/lay ups? Every time I try to drive, I get stopped easily and when I try to do a lay up, it gets stripped. Erggg...
