I can't stop playing this damn game, it is way too good. Live/Elite is done. This game was the last straw... Unfreaking believable...
Kevin Martin's shot is IMPOSSIBLE. And this is coming from a @K head! The release looks the same as it did on 2K10, but I just can't find the touch. Over an hour in practice mode and 10+ online games, still no progress lol... I can dial with having to master the isomotion, I'm seeing progress there. But I know how much of a weapon KM can be and I NEED his shot!!! lol
Bought it yesterday. Started a my player, but then felt like playing association so I did. Time went by so fast I'm still not very good, though I haven't played many games. Today I might try some online.
Really, you're doing yourself a HUGE disservice to not get this game just because it doesn't come pre-packaged with certain classic teams and players. The game is just THAT good. Besides, you can find many of the teams and players you're looking for to download off of 2K Share from some really good roster/player creators out there.
You're really missing out on the greatest basketball video game ever if you don't get this game because of no decade teams with Olajuwon.
This game is too damn hard, there's no walkthrough of how to play, you just get thrown into it. Half my passes are stolen, and just about every time I don't score results in a breakaway dunk for the other team. Of course, when I want to launch a pass down court I'm passing blind.
That's what I love about 2k and what helps keep it challenging. Last year I probably lost my first 10 games by double digits before I even came close to winning. Eventually I became pretty good at it though, and I'm sure this year is the same. It really makes you focus on what you're doing.
Man, i was goign to skip on buying this game because just from the demo, it seemed to similar to 2k10 but from the reviews i been hearing i'm getting tempted. Can someone post a video of the rockets gameplay please!!????
Best basketball game ive ever played and its not even close really. I love the challenge, i love the new controls, i love that i suck at it right now to force me to become even better at the iso motion. You can't just pick up the game drive the lane and then dunk. Just like in real life, you have to set your man up, and take what the defense gives you. It really is satisfying knowing you have to work at it, and when you finally pull off the double move leading to a bucket or assist, it feels like its paid off. It really is an outstanding basketball game. Much props to my cousin who worked on this game!
I am terrible at the game too not having played any nba2k version in several years, but at the end of the night I stumbled on the practice mode in the game which does teach you how to do the different moves. It was time to go to bed so I didn't get to play with it as much as I would like, but it did look to be very helpful.
My only problem with the game is transition offense/defense is heavily skewed towards the computer. If they try to do a fast break there is ALWAYS someone on their team who is behind the defense that I can't see (obviously) on my screen. When I try to pass any sort of long distance outlet pass it results in a steal 50% of the time at least. My player will just stay where he is or keep moving in the same direction while the defensive AI will move in front of him for the ball. They also have an amazing ability to jump and tip passes away. I can't pass over defenses at all really.
I'm actually starting to prefer it like that. In past 2k versions, I always thought it was way too easy to score inside. All you had to was lead pass to anyone headed towards the goal and it was an easy two. Passing is much tougher now, but more realistic than it was before.
sorry I'm not going to dedicate myself to learning the intricacies of a video game, I have a life NBA Jam it is.
I couldn't resist all the good reviews on this game so I went and got it yesterday. So far I've only played as the Rockets and Kevin Martin has to have te most ugliest horrendous shot in the game. I have zero faith in his shots going in. But I have made a couple clutch shots with him, though. This game is very good. It's like watching a real game. My dad came into the living room and asked me who was playing lol. And Kevin Harlan makes it even more enjoyable. He's always been one of my favorite announcers.
Any deals going on? I was going to wait until after ACL to get this but y'all are making my mouth water. Ah Civilization 5.... one day we'll be together.
Civ 5? or do you mean you're getting this before civ5. otherwise...wrong thread? I hear you, I can't justify paying $60 for a PS3 game. I haven't in years, either get what I want on PC or wait till the price drops...or EBAY. I think I'm going PC for the 2nd year in a row for my basketball fix. last year it was $19...this year $29.
