Dont think we win game 6 in Utah. If the Rockets win the series it will be in 5 or 7. If the Jazz win the series it will be in 5 or 6.
face the truth guys we are going to get our asses handed to us. this is knock a knock on the rockets as much as it recognizing what utah is capable of. we have to play beyond our best to win, they do not. we can't afford bad games from t-mac, scola, jackson, or battier. if one or two of their top players has a bad game they have more talent that can step up. we have talked about how maybe we matchup better with them without yao, yet we are 0-2 against them with yao out. we will lose, unfortunately....
it's like you know you should probably shut up and save everyone else the irritation of seeing your moniker show up in a thread again.....and yet the raging douchbag within you won't let you stop........like a crackfiend itching for a hit of the 'submit reply' button if you will....
we need to come out swinging. srsly noone on earth believes in us, and the team needs to use that to their advantage.
If we, as a team, play our best, and the calls are at least close to even, I have faith we can persevere and take this series... Otherwise, Utah in 6.
As much as I love this year's team, this bbs is confounding me now. Idiot passing through, please ignore.
I don't blame the national media for picking the Jazz. They are a fantastic team and the numbers clearly favor them. However, there are a lot of intangibles in our favor. First, we have the best coached team in the NBA. Our players still have the JVG defense stamped in their DNA, and Adelman is probably one of the greatest at squeezing offense out of role players. Second, we are the most mentally tough team in the NBA. You cannot win 22 games without having incredible confidence and discipline. Third, guys like Scola and Battier are winners. Period. Their passion is contagious. Fourth, McGrady knows this is the last chance he has to redeem himself. If he cannot take a team with home advantage that has won 22 games to the next round, he will never make it out of the first round in his life. Fifth, we're a team full of surprises. I respect the Jazz a whole lot. Sloan is a fantastic coach (I think he should always be number 1 or 2 in the Coach of the Year race every year). However, Sloan wins through preparation--he picks the right players and drill the plays into their skulls. Their consistency is also their greatest weakness--they are predictable. On the other hand, we have a bunch of x factors like Mutombo, Landry, Scola, etc. You never know where the damage is going to come from.
the team that won 22 in a row had yao for more than half of them. we're not at full strength. if we had yao, then you can say that about tmac. tmac just has to play to his capability and allow his teammates to also step up.
tmac allow his teammates to step up ? you need to be more concerned with the jazz not allowing them to step up. they are a great team and have more experience than our role players. this game 1 could get ugly
This is the difference in the team from this year to last. There are so many places where the Rockets could get contributions that its hard to shut them all down. You cant double team one player, and keep all the lanes and other avenues shut down for the remaining players. Without Yao we are playing behind the 8 ball, but there are still several players where you could see 8-12 points from. Rockets need 5 in double figures to have a solid chance today. Although like we have seen in a couple games today, the opposition could make the main playmaker a scorer, and hope to keep everyone else from getting off. Working for Dallas against CP3 and worked for the most part for Phoenix against TD and the Spurs. Suns just forgot to play defense against Parker at the end of the game.
we HAVE TO steal one on their home court. Let's not get it to a game 7. We have no weaknesses at PF like last year.. our bench is exponentially better this year than last. (There wont be a game where only 4 players score). If the refs call it fair.. we have a good chance. It's the same team we faced last year.. except it's a trade off.. I think we lose yao but gain BJ, CL, LS, and AB. different team.. we'll see.
The national media was right. The Jazz will kill us like they did tonight. Also, the pundits were all right. Every team wanted to play the Rockets in the post-season because it is almost like getting a bye.
