Thought I saw somewhere that he's interviewing for the Bills HC opening.

Does anyone see Washington improving under a Shanahan/Shanahan regime? I can't see Campbell-Moss-Davis being a Schaub-Johnson-Daniels. And wasn't Denver's defense the worst, or gave up the most passing TD's when Mike left?

Going from 8-8 to 4-12 is bad enough to get you fired, but I don't think Shanny can get them past 8-8, and man I wish they did, because they get too many prime time games and I can never keep awake.

While there were still a ton of boneheaded plays made that you'd want a HC to overrule, I think Kubiak did benefit this year from not being both the HC and effectively the offensive coordinator. Gary should be considering himself lucky to get this next year. Obviously, you don't want to bring in a guy who will completely rock the boat, but I think you definitely need to bring in someone competent to take the considerable offensive talent they have and make it better. They rack up the yardage but obviously could still benefit from better red zone success. Yes, it has a lot to do with the lack of a solid run game this year, but I guess my point is, if money isn't a huge object, I'd rather at least bring in a competent, semi-experienced OC (if Kyle leaves) to do more than just coach the QB's, letting Gary focus on the big picture AND help in game planning and in game calling as necessary.

I'm a big fan of nepotism, but don't see how rejoining his father is a tremendously positive move for Kyle. You'd think he'd have a quicker route to eventual head coach himself by staying with the Texans. Consider if he could take this year's success and have even more play-calling freedom next year, hopefully a better run game, a better scoring offense and the team starts to make the playoffs. You'd think in a few years he'd be a hot coordinator at that point, interviewing for some head positions. With his dad, that clearly won't happen during that regime, which best case scenario, he remains the OC under his dad for 5-10 years as the organization is turned around, and worst case scenario he remains OC under his dad for 3-5 years as they fail to turn around the organization.
