I work in the Oncology field of medicine. Pancreatic Cancer is usually a death sentence. It doesn't look good for Swayze.
is the cause of this type of cancer usually more genetic or a result of (over) exposure to some chemical/pathogen/etc?
umm ok i think your taking the reference a little to series there. are you the point break historian or something?
It could happen for either reason... The reason it's usually a death sentence is because the pancreas is located behind a lot of organs and it's hard to detect the cancer early. It spreads pretty quickly too. Lost a guy that I used to work for and one of my best friend's mom to pancreatic cancer. Both were gone within 6 months of diagnosis. FTR...I'm not a doctor. I work with oncology nurses and docs. http://pathology.jhu.edu/pancreas/BasicHeredity.php?area=ba
That's correct, sir. Certified Pointbreakian. Like Bodhi says, "Little hand says it's time to rock and roll."
