I'd cut Days and give his spot to Williams. Days is very replaceable with the addition of Samuels. I think Hudgins may survive simply because RGV needs a point guard, but he didn't play last game so I don't know. Then one of Boban and JRE has to go and to me Boban is more useful because of his size. He can be useful in certain situations and even pretend to be the opposing center in practices.
Just an unlikely and random bit of information. What do the following guys all have in common? Nate Hinton Jermaine Samuels Jeenathan Williams Trevor Hudgins Darius Days Mathew Mayer They are all 24 years old.
The return wouldn't be for Oladipo though. Oladipo would simply be salary filler. The return would be for a package of draft picks and possibly Tate or one of the young guys they decide isn't part of the long term plans. Oladipo simply has a large enough salary, when combined with a few other guys, to get us to somebody making upwards of 30 million. And who knows. Embiid could be demanding a trade by the deadline.
I'm no capologist, but one of the podcasts I was listening to said Oladipo's salary can't be aggregated with another one in trade. I'm not sure if that's correct but if it is there's very little point in keeping him. Even if you can use his salary to build up, feels like a very small chance it works out where a star is coming back. Like I said, just feels like chasing a sunk cost and the team would be better off taking the hit and moving on this season. And just because you brought him up, no thanks to Embiid. I could get behind a Myles Turner deal though.
Said no one ever. You'd really prefer Myles Turner to the reigning MVP? I'm scratching my head on that one.
It really comes down to the cost. Straight up Embid for sure, but I have no trust that he can be the man which he will demand being. Turner could be the perfect fit for our team at a lesser cost.
Who do you think will be the man then? Just curious. As of yet, I'm not 100% sold on any of these guys. I'm fond of quite a few of them, but I am not a 100% believer in any of them (since the immense loss of Josh Christopher).
Amen is going to be a hall of famer. Jalen Green is going to average close to 30 in the next 2-3 years. Sengun will be an all-star sooner, rather than later. We are loaded. Amen Green Jabari Miles Sengun. With an incredible bench. P
I certainly hope you're right. I was hoping Jalen and Sengun would come out this preseason and blow me away. They haven't done that yet. I've been more impressed with Jabari. And I love Amen. Hope to gawd he can get his shot worked out because I'm not sure he's going to get anywhere near his ceiling if he doesn't. But I loved the pick and I am hopeful.
Amen is just like Magic, but not quite as thick. So Magic could play 4 and 5, where Amen can only go against small 4’s. Magic and Amen shots are similar to me in so much that Magic developed a set shot from 3 that was good enough to keep the defense’s honest. In his younger years, he still dominated. I think Amen takes a similar approach and uses a 3 pt set shot. To be an offensive juggernaut he will need to be 34% from 3, above average at mid and floaters. Like Magic, he will be awesome in transition, assists, rebounding, and better at parameter defense and less effective in the post.
Cant be combined with other salary right now. But eventually they will be able to after some amount of time. Im not sure what that amount of time is and too lazy to look it up right now. I think its like a month or something like that.
Don't the Rox already have 3 2 ways? They gotta cut someone else if they want to make Williams a 2 way
Two questions: what is his actual first name? And will someone please start a "Nate Williams is the Rockets' franchise player" thread?
