The guy has been in and out of lineups & rotations ever since he's been in the league. It seems to me that despite his talent, Nate Robinson is a player that needs to be in a ubber controlled offensive system with a very tightly wound/well respected coach. I just dont think Nate can do what he's doing now with just any team. Chicago is the perfect team, and coach for him to do what he does in a controlled manner. I think GM's are smart enough to know this and not go crazy with huge dollars thrown at him this Summer. Wouldn't be shocked if he just stays in Chicago for their low mid-level exception.
You could make the same argument about Raymond Felton or Jeremy Lin and the MDA effect. Lin got a big contract. Felton not so much.
Are you serious? Have you watched a single Bulls game this playoffs? Everyone knows he makes stupid mistakes and messes up at times, but he has been unbelievable this postseason. He and Noah have basically carried that Bulls team and he has been clutch as you can possibly be. Not so sure that "nutcase" is a fair description either...
LOL! The real question is have you watched Nate Robinson before this year's playoffs. He has a long track record of exactly what I said. When he makes bone-headed plays on offense, misses dumb shots and gets left standing still on defense, he isn't so "unbelievable". I'll give him credit for playing inspired the last few games, but it doesn't happen very often. There is a reason the idiot has been on 5 teams in 8 seasons.
Nate Robinson has a well-defined 8 year NBA career. He's is a known commodity in every sense of the word. He's on a 1-year non-guaranteed, minimum contract with the Bulls. There were a lot of rumors he would be waived in January. How exactly does this compare to why Jeremy Lin wasn't drafted?
