I thought he was considered a pretty poor defender. But to be honest I've never paid much attention to him.

Paul, Curry, Parker, Westbrook, Rose, Wall, Lillard, Lowry, Irving, Conley, Dragic, Williams, Bledsoe

Are the players I'd probably rank above him (Bledsoe i'm not sure about), so definitely top 15. Which doesn't sound very impressive, but It really is because all of the players I just named are definite all star candidates. The PG position is STACKED, for example, I'd take Lawson over a lot of players who are in the top 10 at the SG, C and SF positions.

when all starting pgs are healthy, here are my selections for clearly better (in no particular order):

    CP3
    Curry
    Westbrook
    Kyrie
    Lillard
    Wall
    Rondo
    Rose
    Parker

Then you have players in which you could make a case are the same range as Lawson

    Lowry
Dragic/Bledsoe/Thomas (I dont know what PHX is doing)
    Holiday
    Conley
    Teague
    D Will
    Kemba

Then you got your bottom of the run players:
    Bev
    Cole
    hot garbage.
    etc.

    Lin

So I'd put Lawson upper middle level PG. Not quite an all-star, but can outplay them at times.

Kyle Lowry is top 5 PG. Underrated.

Chandler, Gallinari, Foye, and Afflalo are all very tradeable pieces.

Hickson probably could be traded, he's a decent backup big man at an okay salary ($5 million). Some team down the stretch who needs to bulk up their bench for the playoffs certainly would deal for him.

JaVale is a tough piece to trade, but certainly there could be suitors (Celtics). I think the Cavs could use another center I just can't imagine Varejao staying healthy, and if Waiters starts b****ing because of his role, they could deal McGee for Waiters and Haywood to make the contracts work.

Are we down to Lawson and Rubio now?

    You forgot lillard.

    Top pg now should be
    Curry
    Lillard
    Cp3
    Westbrook
    Lowry
    Wall
    Parker

Then everyone else. Rose is no longer elite

For whatever reason, getting Lawson would remind me of the Kevin Martin trade. Obviously the team is in a different place right now, but there are some similarities. Both were on longer term deals in the low 8 figures. Both seem like "Morey" guys.

It just depends what direction Denver ends up going. If they put Lawson on the market, how many teams will really bid?

Lowry is probably the 3rd best PG right now.

Actually rebuilds are just the opposite. Sell off the most valuable pieces so they don't lose value as they play on your crappy team. That's why Denver traded Mozgov and not McGee or Hickson, both of whom such much more and have no value. That's why Hinkie sold Holiday immediate as the GM.

Those 6 players you mentioned they should sell off would not bring even 1/10 of the value Lawson can bring.

I'd rather have Collison, all things considered.

    1. What teams would be interested in Lawson in a trade?

    2. Would we really have to give up the Pels pick for Lawson if we wanted him?

    3. Would Morey give up the Pels pick for Lawson?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    1. I don't know of a team that would want him. Possibly Sacramento for junk? Just don't know.

    2. I don't know the answer to this question.

    3. I would think Morey would hold out for a better 2-way player than Lawson to give up the Pels pick. Not saying he wouldn't be willing to trade for Lawson. Just not convinced he'd give up the Pels pick for a guy that really doesn't thwart the point of attack effectively.

Lawson has good stats he passes the ball very well
but not a good fit to the rockets i dont think
Mike Conley will be real good for us good defense
    good play maker good scorer
very very solid, consistent and can knock down open 3's
although beverley's 3s might be better

Since the hand checking rule was fully eliminated in the late 90's the game has shifted to the perimeter in an extreme way.

Lawson is putting up 17 and 10, and I wouldn't even have him in my top 10. The PG position is absolutely loaded.

    This is the problem.

Go watch some Nuggets basketball and you will change your opinion.

The whole Nuggets team is full of losers and quiters (well maybe except Faried), its a joke to see how they play.

Lawson is not their only problem but definitely he is part of it.
