"... and we had nonbelievers all along the way... I got one thing to say to those nonbelievers..."

Horry started every game at PF during the 4-0 sweep of Orlando. He was only 24 yrs old. This snap shot was taken during game 3, I believe.

In actuality, 'young Horry' finished that Finals series with the following averages:

    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://widgets.sports-reference.com/wg.fcgi?css=1&site=bbr&url=%2Fplayoffs%2FNBA_1995_finals.html&div=div_HOU"></script>

Clearly, you didn't watch 'young, skinny Horry' stretch the 4 during his postseasons in Houston.

I'd say he more than held his own.

Anybody think Mo Taylor would fit nicely alongside Howard?

I know I have already contributed to this thread, but I just am amazed.

Basketball is a team sport. You need a superstar or two to win a championship. After you get that, you find guys to COMPLIMENT those stars, not back them up. Fill up the starting lineup and make that unstoppable. Mad max is a great player. Dude could shut DOWN people and would get in your head. But, how many meaningful minutes would he get? He would still back up Harden.

Sam Cassell, I can understand. But, You put Sam I Am in place of Lin and we still have a huge hole at the four.

Glen Rice, one of the greatest shooters of all time,... at least this one makes a little sense because of how well he would spread the floor out for both Harden and Dwight.

I know I said these guys' names, but Horry should really be the best choice due to need, how his game compliments Dwight's and Harden's AND he is not a negative on any end of the floor.

Think about Lin. Lin went OFF in NY when his skill set was needed. Here it is not as needed and somewhat redundant. He is then left to be a pretty average player. When talking about ROLE players, you do not go for who is better, but who fits the team better and can help the team the most, unless if the skill level is so great that you have to find a way to make it work.

Obvious choice is Dream at the 4. A close second would be Pippen or Barkley if we're talking about primes.

If those are considered cheating, then Artest. Disrupting Lebron & Durant, completely shutting down Kawhaii & George, and shifting team identity towards defensive toughness >>>> 3's

Skinny Horry was the best Horry. One of the greatest championship role players in NBA history, and there's pretty much no debate on that. He'd be perfect for this team and most teams.

How can our key piece in a trade for a HOFer like Drexler be considered a role player?

    Landry, hayes, dragic or lowry.

I would not be surprised if one of them is with the team by trade dealine.

Agreed. Obvious answer is Horry. And it is not even close.

But Horry never played for a young team. He was always known for cruising during the season on veteran teams and having playoff highlights.

I don't get the infatuation for a young team like us. Sure top three if you only count retired players. But IMO not "it's not even close"
