Porcupines sound like cartoons characters, or maybe Jawas.

Also, old world porcupines and new world porcupines evolved their quills independently.

Did you know Corn is the only vegetable that has to be cultivated by man to grow, as in it won't grow naturally?

The ancient Sumerian city of Ur was originally located where the Euphrates River entered the Persian Gulf. It is now more than a 100 KM from the Gulf and the Euphrates isn't close. Also all the land around it was very fertile but centuries of agriculture with insufficient rain caused the soil to too salty to grow anything and now it is all desert.

I've been learning about what the puncturing characteristics of medieval arrows. Tod of Tod's Workshop has done some great videos in the past doing probably the definitive test of the "English longbow vs French knights at Agincourt" scenario which I highly recommend checking out. He figured out recently that he can use a modern crossbow to simulate the exact same propulsion characteristics of a heavy-draw medieval longbow. And he's been using his "Lockdown Longbow" to shoot all sorts of stuff with it over the past four months. And it's fascinating.

    Here's a good example:

And if you want to see the full ongoing series, here's a playlist.
