Well you left out that before Obama "threw him under the bus" Wright had his National Press Club speech where he made things worse.

I agree with Nadler somewhat and with weslinder. But, i'm still voting Obama.

I think he was a member of that church for political expediency. When he was a local politician competing with other black candidates in south Chicago, he had a problem of not being black enough. The church helped ameliorate that. Then, when he ran for wider offices and needed to appeal to white voters, membership at that church didn't matter as much but he still had to be a member of some church, and that church wasn't hurting him yet. And, I think he did have an affection for the church. Then, running for president it did become a liability. I was very disappointed when he withdrew from the church. Not that he'll be going to church as a president anyway.

This occurred today and it's newsworthy which is why it was reported. How exactly is that a 'kitchen sink' approach? It's simply not.

It's a low class move from a low class individual, reflecting a low class upbringing.

He didn't say anything different or out of character. And after Obama had just said that Rev. Wright was like family, an embarassing speech was enough to throw him under the bus? It was a beautiful speech about race, community, and relationships with flawed people. It's too bad that Obama didn't mean it.

We all like consistency and purity. Are you saying that you would have voted for Obama if he had kept defending Wright?

McCain was not too long touting that he supported Bush more than 90 % of the time, even more than many of the GOP in Congress. Now he disavows Bush to an amazing degree to get your and other GOP votes? Why not be bothered by McCain's display of disloyalty?

he did defend wright until wright started saying that obama wasn't telling the truth about what obama really thinks. so if your crazy pastors comes out and says some crazy things and you say you don't believe them and then he turns around and says you really do believe them you're going to defend that?

I think you answered your own question, so to speak.
