Yes, Nachbar played a very solid game with this numbers:

    21 points
    5 rebounds
    2 assists
    2 steals
    1 block
    1 turnover
    5-9 in FT's
    5-6 FG's
    2-6 in Threes

and all in 26 minutes. Very good. 15 points in the second half.
And he has been very important in the decisive instants for Slovenia. A victory against Italy is a good victory to Slovenia.

    Am I missing something here?

He was 5 of 6 in fg......but he was 2 for 6 on his 3-pts. That doesn't compute.

Apparently, they are counting 3-pointers as not being a subset of field goals. It adds up if you do the math. By our standards, he shot 7 for 12.

This kid might have a chance. If he wants to learn how to play tough defense, JVG is a good one to teach him. I hope Boki has the desire.

    :D

Maybe they should have had Sheed on the international team. Then we could have a mixture of "practice" and "both teams played hard" mixed in with praise for international ball...

Actually, one of the first things I thought (after the initial elation) after JVG was hired was, "uh oh... Nachbar's in trouble."

I don't know how good he is. Obviously, we haven't seen enough. But suppose he is close to as good as Peja, in potential.

JVG might teach him how to play defense. But it's equally likely he'll stifle Nachbar's development by forcing him to jump through the wrong hoops. I'm not sure he's the "right type of player" for JVG. Which is unfortuante, since I love that type...
