Are you saying that you've become soft? You post one racist thing, and then can't handle the heat when people call out the racist thing you posted.

Posting one racist thing isn't okay, nor is posting one hundred racist things. The fact that you were called out on posting a racist post which you did, and now can't seem to deal with the fact that your racist post was called out might indicate that you're too soft to deal with your own actions, but I don't know enough to say that for sure.

I don't know whether you are or are not racist. But your post was definitely ractist. I'm sorry that you have a problem with being called out on racist posts. If you don't like it maybe you shouldn't post them anymore. I understand it was meant to be humorous, but that doesn't mean it wasn't racist.

Was I offended by it? Not at all. Was it funny? Not at all.

But that doesn't change the fact that it was racist.

I know it's a tough world when you can't make racist jokes and not get called out for it, but hopefully you'll find a way to deal.

I liked the Korean eye joke. It was humorous. I'm hispanic, I laugh at hispanic stereotypes. cdain3 is right, how sensitive of others.

On topic, NK won't do anything. Or at least I hope not. I feel like the kid might be stupid enough to actually attack us.

Basically no one wants a war, especially the US, and North Korea will keep making idle threats until the U.S. or UN agree to send them aid packages again. They threaten, and the world capitulates.

Obama wants his Gun Control legislation to be passed, and having a war involving *gasp* GUNS would not help. So he'll let the North Koreans make their threats, nod, and accede to whatever demands they make. How he conducts this situation will determine whether or not the Democrats retain control of the White House for the next 20 years. A conflict with North Korea is not in Obama's best interest.

I am pretty sure Obama doesn't want to ban guns from the military.

No, but there would be critics out there decrying him for his gun control impetus when he's out there conducting a war using said weapons. He would rather get his legislation passed without having a war to throw a wrench into things.

I would think that most people can differentiate between weapons used in war by the military and weapons used by civilians in peace time.

    Then again maybe not.

It's a symbolic issue. They could argue that it's ok to be out there killing people in another country, but that they can't have guns to protect themselves? Of course it's a broad issue, and it seems that his gun control legislation is on it's last legs anyway.

I wasn't offended, nor was it at all funny. A joke that someone's vision is different because of the eye shape isn't really funny to begin with even if it wasn't racist. It's fine that you have a sense of humor that thinks that joke was funny and others don't.

If he wants to make a racist joke, and then whine about it when people don't like, I think he's the one being too sensitive.

The more racist jokes are called out for being stupid and racist, the better it is. If you and your friends want to make jokes about your ethnicity that's fine, if everyone is okay with it. However, to make them in public on a message board, and not be able to deal with it when the racist joke gets called out is silly.

I thought we were all about people taking personal responsibility. If you make a racist joke and people don't like it, deal with it. Don't get upset because nobody thought it was cool to post a racist joke on a public message board. He should take some personal responsibility and stop blaming others because he made a racist joke, and you're the only person who thought it was cool.

His gun control measures aren't even that drastic, at least personally to me. I agree with his ideas about mental history checks and such. But his gun control legislation will be dead in the water for sure, if this situation with North Korea escalates.

You are seriously relating Obama's response to North Korea to gun control politics here? Oh brother!

I've got news for you: A military conflict with North Korea hasn't been in any president's interest the last 60 years. This has been going on a bit longer than you realize. Every president from Eisenhower onward would have had their domestic agenda blown up by another Korean war.

No, it's obvious that a conflict in North Korea would not be in any president's interest. But I'm fairly sure that how he deals with the Korean situation and how it could affect his gun control policies has crossed his mind.

Or at least, in my opinion, I believe the gun control issue has more of an influence on his actions towards North Korea, than it would be with any other president. I'm not sure if any other president in history was trying to get gun legislation passed with the threat of potential war happening, either.

"Any other president"? Please explain why in a logical way other than saying you dislike Obama a lot.
