You are right. It was a US led UN coalitions, where US provided by far the vast majority of forces on land, sea and air. Except for Britains and members of Commenwealth, US provided weapons and materials for all other 10 participating forces.

I don't think any Chinese will be interested in fighting for any other country. Without the Korean War, China might be in a totally different state right now. Maybe a Northern Europe like democratic socialist beacon :)

I dont usually start threads i just feel not very at ease with my lack proper grammar and english. anyhow, it a trip of mixed emotions.on one hand i saw my family members, but on the other hand i saw things i like to forget.

Anyone who says anything that is against the theocracy dissapears in record time. many people told me privately that we had it good during the shah but we were ungratefull and now the younger generation are paying for our stupidity. the revolution is often referd as the greatest setback in irans history. the shah's son is very popular. i'm not bull****ing, he has support in all sectors of society. i wasnt aware of how much till i saw it with my own eyes. anyone who says otherwise hasnt been to iran lately or they work for the goverment.

Also, Ahmadinejad is often refferd to by the general population as the monkey. :D because of his hairy and ugly face.

I'm even more confident that the army truly hates the mollah's. i spoke to many Army and airforce officers and they truly blame the current lack of parts for iran's us jetfighter fleets on the stupid and humilating policies of the mollah's . they sent over 1 billion dollars rescently to lebbanon to rebuilt a country that they destroyed through there slaves in hezbollah, but they spend nothing on the armed forces. it's not just the Armed forces being screwed, there are cases of workers not being paid for over 6 months in many sectors of the bussiness community. the cost of living is crazy. imagine not being paid in that kind of society. they seem to think Palestinians are more important then there own people..

It boggoles my mind a country that rich can have such a poor living standard.

Report: Kim sorry about N. Korea nuke test
Comments made to Chinese delegation, S. Korea newspaper reports

SEOUL, South Korea - North Korean leader Kim Jong Il expressed regret about his country’s nuclear test to a Chinese delegation and said Pyongyang would return to international nuclear talks if Washington backs off a campaign to financially isolate the country, a South Korean newspaper reported Friday.

“If the U.S. makes a concession to some degree, we will also make a concession to some degree, whether it be bilateral talks or six-party talks,” Kim was quoted as telling a Chinese envoy, the mass-circulation Chosun Ilbo reported, citing a diplomatic source in China.

Kim told the Chinese delegation that “he is sorry about the nuclear test,” the newspaper reported.

The delegation led by State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met Kim on Thursday and returned to Beijing later that day — ahead of U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice’s arrival in the Chinese capital Friday. China is viewed as a key nation in efforts to persuade the North to disarm, as it is the isolated communist nation’s main trading partner.

North Korea has long insisted that the U.S. desist from a campaign to sever its ties to the international financial system. Washington accuses Pyongyang of complicity in counterfeiting and money laundering to sell weapons of mass destruction.

The North has refused since last November to return to the nuclear talks, which also include China, Japan, Russia and South Korea. Pyongyang has sought bolster its negotiating position by a series of provocative actions, test-firing a barrage of missiles in July and performing its first-ever nuclear test Oct. 9.
