Damn your solid logic. I've also done the Reaper Bones and Chibi Dungeon Adventurers Kickstarters this year.
I'll just keep my second copy sealed up til after I play and if I like it I will decide if I want to keep the 2nd copy or resell it. I imagine even a used copy with all the stretch goals that's in good condition will resell for more than $100 in the off chance that I just hate the game. Just have to decide if I want any last minute add ons.
$926k and some change. Pretty impressive. I think they could have hit $950 with another goal. Ah well, good price and something to look forward to in 2014.
An update on some of the sculpts they have been working on: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1700755582/myth-0/posts/462885 Spoiler The minis look really good so far, not as cartoonish as the art.
Those are really nice sculpts. It's a shame that these artists are going to lose their jobs to 3D printers soon. I guess they can transition to whatever modeling software is king like comic book colorists did 15 years ago.
Update on the Kickstarter for anyone who pledged: Project Update #67: The Withers and the Why Fors Posted by MERCS Miniatures We've been busy! We apologize for our longer than normal absence. Here is an update. I wrote a nice large update, but I guess KS thought I was taking too long and deleted it, so you get the much more abridged version. Pledge Manager (PM) 3898 (72.7%) of original backers finalized their order (72.7%) 835 (15.6%) of original backers have not logged in 627 (11.7%) of original backers have logged in but not finalized their order Not bad for three weeks left to go. The only group we are worried about, and taking a great deal of our time, is the 15% who have never logged on. We think these people either didn't receive the initial message from KS or are a little nervous about using the PM. We have a second focused email being sent shortly with step-by-step instructions and an out for those that are still reticent to use the PM. We have added 64 NEW backers through the open enrollment. I understand some of you have strong feelings about the PM being opened. I hope you realize it is not our intent to "devalue" the KS. Over half of the 64 added were people who reached out to me during the KS in search of a solution: Germans needing to pay through PayPal, BGG contest winners who wanted to pledge but had already won a copy of the game. We had good reasons to help those people and found a way. We hope you understand. These are people who wanted to back during the KS, but couldn't for some reason. Production All the base game sculpts are finished and starting production. The stretch goals and additional purchases are in the sculpting process now. On the printing side, we've agreed on the quote and have started the process of lining up all the little things that go along with printing in China: a schedule, logistics and delivery. Once these things are hammered out, we can move forward with art submission. Hold on to your butts, but we believe we can deliver the base game and certain other elements (t-shirts) early. We intend to do everything in our power to make this a reality. We are pushing hard to have production copies of the game into our warehouse in November. The stretch goals and add-ons will still be in January. No additional shipping cost will be charged to you. We'll continue to update you on the possibilities of an early delivery. We are not saying that a November delivery is a 100% certainty. It is a company goal. To that end, we are going to supply all backers with a pdf of the core game rules the second week of June. The core rules only communicate game mechanics. It does not delve into the setting up of tiles, how to deal with quests, or the provide any lore. Those sections will come later. Our goal is simple, get as much feedback as we can before we submit the rules to the printer. Less confusion, Less FAQs. The pdf will be simple text. It won't have images or diagrams. However, the design is in progress. There are a couple samples below. We use sample elements from the Acolyte in the Archer, for example. These are very much a work-in-progress (the design is unfinished and using unedited text), but it gives you an idea of where we are going. Keith has also been working on card art. A sample is below. He provided this to us a couple weeks ago. He is further long by now; we'll be getting together this weekend for a bit of show and tell. You might or might not be able to see the images well. We are really pleased with them. I can't wait to see the finished elements this weekend. Kenny has been working on the Slaughterfield Supplement Pack. We should have a video of a full Slaughterfield session in June. I (Brian) am working on quest text. We have a fine mix of combat and non-combat quests. All the text is highly flavored. Here is a sample (once again, unedited): Introduction: In the clear quiet of the morning, they started arriving. Battered and broken, people appeared, crying and carrying their beloved. With blank stares the refugees whispered that the Darkness had come, made manifest in the might of a single legendary foe. Everyone looks to you to make things right. To find out what attacked these poor people and to discover if it is heading this way. Resolution: Never could you have imagined such a fearsome adversary. What could this mean? Certainly, the locals will be glad to hear the enemy is defeated, and cheer your name. Fame, isn't that what you've always wanted. To earn fame and to be called a Hero. Yet, only one thought runs through your head: if something like that exists, what else waits in the Darkness for fools who would call themselves Heroes? Anyway, we've been working. Updates will continue to be slower through the pledge manager's end. Then they can pick up again. We'll have all kinds of pics and videos in June. I apologize for errors. I am still a bit miffed that I had to write it twice. the Myth Team Care to comment? View this update on Kickstarter→
