I must be the only man on the earth that likes the PS3 AND the Xbox 360... They are both FANTASTIC!!!
I probably would have a PS3 if I could afford it...I still play my PS2; actually got it as a wedding gift! But yeah, I'm not gonna lie...I'm still loyal to XBOX.
I'm sure you're not. But it must be nice being loaded. Regardless, the competition is good for games in the long run. I only hope both companies wait a couple of years before starting on the next gen.
Here's how these threads always break down: Pretty much every poster: I think that (insert name of system poster owns) is the best system. The (insert name of system poster doesn't own) is a piece of crap. And then some guy comes in talking about the Wii and fans of both the 360 and PS3 just laugh.
Yup. As of last month I have now completed the current gen triangle. Although, actually, with both handhelds I guess that's a pentagon? Whatever. Not everyone has had multiple cases of systems breaking. Sure, if we're talking three, four, five times it will probably be pretty grating. On the other hand, if it doesn't cost anything to get it fixed it's still more worth it for some people just to go without it for a week. 'It fails so much' might not be as 'much' on a person to person basis. Lots of folks have had to deal with it one or two times - others, not so lucky. Beyond that, it's not inconceivable that someone would have plenty of reasons to stick with that system (even if it broke on them) over the one you prefer. How many times would your PS3 have to break - if Sony fixed it for free - before you got a 360 (or, if that's inconceivable for you, gave up gaming?)
I've read that freezes eventually lead to RROD. Anyways, you should go to the Microsoft support website and start a repair order. You are still under the originial warranty. And if you get the RROD, it has a 3 year warranty.
Two times is a lot to me, especially considering how much these things cost. Add to that all the other folks that are having trouble and I'd switch. If the PS3 were doing that, I'd probably have to switch. There are some games that I'd miss, but oh well. I also wouldn't want to give up Blu-Ray, but I would like an unreliable system even less. Like I said as well, the people I work with who've had problems didn't get them back in a week. One buddy sent it in, got it like a month later only for it to break again a couple of months down the line. That stuff leaves a bad taste in my mouth in any product. I can't believe that MS put it out like they did when reports say they knew about faults before launch. It has nothing to do with being a fanboy. I've said both are worth their price for the most part. I just believe things should be done right by the consumer. Maybe thats a bit old fashioned.
But how often do you hear people complaining about their PS3s bricking? It happens to XBOX owners constantly. PS3 hardware is waaaaaay more reliable in genreal.
Got my 360 back today...would have been yesterday but UPS came during the only time I was gone all day. Oh well, only took about a week, so as others have said it was relatively painless. And I actually got some playing time on the Wii; first time in probably a year easy. And I event went back to the old Xbox.
I'm with you on that. Even though my xbox died, Microsoft were fine and it was fixed quickly for no cost. I got a PS3 a few weeks ago, for some reason the 40gb ones were being cleared out for $190 (PS3's sell here in Australia for $550+ atm), so luckily I got one of the few ones they had and have loved it. One thing I will say is I am amazed how much easier it is to play media from your PC or Laptop with the PS3 than the Xbox. Considering I am running Microsoft on both my laptop and PC you would think the Microsoft console would be the better. I think the general saying that the 360 is best for the gamer, PS3 for entertainment and Wii for the family is pretty much spot on.
and to add to the previous post, I have also had a Wii and thought that was great for what it was but as I only live with my gf it did not get much play, so we sold it.
