It's well worth not having it for 5 days. That's how long it took for mine to get fixed. And My PS3 has given just as many problems
Five days doesn't seem to be the norm. Those I know didn't have such great turnaround. Most of the folks in this thread didn't get it that quick. Also the only time I hear about PS3s breaking is in these threads about the fail rate of 360s. The lone exception is a guy I work with said once his didn't recognize the hard drive, but he turned it off and on again and it worked fine. I've had my PS3 for about two years and have not had one issue. At some point you have to step your game up. My only point is that I don't understand how many problems it gives people yet they don't move on. Had I chose the 360 and have it break I probably would have gotten rid of it and switched. Especially more than once. There's a saying in Tennessee, well we say it in Texas, but I think they say it in Tennessee too. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice..........well we can't get fooled again. I hope you guys are more level headed in relationships. Plus its not as if the 360 is a better system or the PS3 is crap with no games on it. Its not exactly a downgrade. I can understand someone doesn't have the money right away, but anything else is just being stubborn or a fanboy. To each their own I suppose. Good luck with everything.
Resistance 1 is one of my all-time favorite games, there is not much else I like. I have bought Resistance 2, just have not looked at it yet. PLus my all-time favorite game is on 360 only, Left 4 Dead. I also love Gears of War. I could not have a system without those 2. However, Halo is very overrated, I think it sucks personally.
I honestly don't know what I'd do if it continually broke down on me. This however is the first time in 2 1/2 years. It still sucks, but I'm not about to jump ship and get a PS3. If both systems had the exact same games, were equal in price, if Sony had as good of an online platform as Live...essentially the only difference being reliability, then sure I'd probably go with Playstation. But all things are not equal so I'm quite happy sticking with my XBOX.
Well I'm feeling more comfortable right now with the PS3 being that all my friends are gamers and own all of the big 3. I went through 3 xboxs and I have 5 separate friends that went through multiple xboxs. None of them have had any issues with their PS3.
I'm so annoyed that my x-box broke I just hooked up the PS2 and went and bought Shadow of Colossus -- put the POS 360 in the closet.
That's cool man, but there are a lot of people out there with more than one failure. The price thing isn't an issue for me. You get what you paid for. I had the money for the system I wanted. Not the money to get them all. The games, really there are few games that aren't on both platforms anymore. In the end I decided with the PS3 for the exclusives. At least that was the tie breaker. From what I understand the only thing that the 360 does better is online play, but even then I don't have complaints with the PS3 online. Goes back to getting what you pay for. Plus all the dudes I work with have PS3s. No one I know personally has bought a 360 in the last year. I've known about five of my friends to get a PS3 in that time. Plus another one is about to switch so he can play online with us from Washington so someone's buying them.
My XBOX got E74 error, and I tried to repair it but it didn't work out. Soooo I threw it into garbage.
FYI, received the repaired 360 exactly one week to the day after I dropped it off - dropped it at the UPS place on a Friday, had it back in perfect working order the next Friday. Never have understood all the bickering between fanboys. We now have two 360's in the house, a PS3, a Wii, and various older systems. They are all good in their own ways, everybody just feel the love, Brothers!
Some people can't afford all of them, hence the "my choice is superior to yours". Some people prefer "American made" vs foreign products. Some people do it because their "choice system" was the under dog the previous generation, etc etc blah blah. There are many reasons, but the worst is the fan boy who pretends to be unbiased.
Im with ya on that. Ive owned just about every gaming system ever made(all the way back to Pong) and it doesnt matter to me if you bought an xbox vs a ps3...if that is what you wanted...more power to ya....just dont give me crap cause I chose to not buy the same one. The main reason I bought the ps3 was cause I heard tons of problems from xbox owners and very few from ps3 owners.....it is that simple. Add in the BluRay drive and those factors made the choice easy for me. FTR....between me and my daughter we(mainly her) play the crap out of that sucker and it hasnt shown me problem one in the two years or so we have had it.
Exactly. If you say that though, you are a fanboy just trying to be unbiased. I've said it dozens of times now, both systems have their merits and are good. I had the choice between them both and picked what I thought was the better system. Seeing people stick with something that fails so much is astonishing to me and I wonder what other products aside from gaming consoles could pull this off. To me it seems like an undying loyalty. Guess I'm a fanboy.
