the advantages of living in a big city: so many walmarts to try the switcheroo, if one rejects u try another one.
I just last month sent my son's in for RROD and they sent me back the same unit - fixed. Or they went to the trouble to switch the casing.
Don't worry about the warranty thing, they fixed mine anyways. they said 'we see your system is out of warranty but we will fix it for you'. i got mine back fast cause there's a repair center in texas.
the TV is the most important part. come on Pun! I've sent you so many good deals out there. I'm 100% satisified that you will be very happy playing your 1080p Sony Playstation 3 on a 'HDTV' instead of a 27inch Emerson CRT TV
Well, that's not what they told me. The CSR rep said it was just out of warranty, and she sounded kind of sympathetic, but not so sympathetic that she was going to give me the repair for free. She would have taken down my payment info right then if I had been willing.
That same box just got RROD again last night. Sending it back again. This time they want me to send the power cord too. We have 2 360s and it does the same thing on both power cords and the other 360 works fine on both cords. What idiots. Just send me my new xbox already!
If you want to get a free repair the legit way, post your complaint (with indignant embellishments on customer service and Xbox reliability) on the Consumerist, and watch the wheels roll in motion.
I am on my 4th....but I have had this one for about a year and no problems at all. I actually bought a 2nd unit because the other one kept breaking so I would pull out the backup and play on it while the regular was off for repair. Now, I have them both set up in the house so I can play against my kids etc. I have had 3 sets of RROD....and each time they sent me an entirely new unit. DD
My Xbox 360, which I have had from launch, has just started freezing up at various times. I thought it was a bug in one game but...nope...it froze on boot-up and froze in other games last night. I got the RROD one time but haven't since; it just freezes after a bit. I've left it off since yesterday...but I think I now have a problematic 360 on my hands. I read some people saying it could be my power brick. Someone was even saying to suspend the power brick in the air as this seems to fix their problems. lol I guess I could always drop $200 on another one. I take it...it isn't worth sending it in for repair after the bill comes in. Damn.
Happened to me sent it back with payment... Got a brand new because they dais it wasnt my fault and they refunded my repair fee.
For anybody feeling guilty for doing the switcharoo....keep this in mind.....walmart has more money than Finland.........F' em
So, you paid nothing even though you were out of warranty? Or, we're you in warranty? I would like to send mine for repair and get a new one (preferabbly with HDMI but not required) for free. Is this possible?
