I would have to see the overall trade, but of course Wall is special...I would probably do it for Wall or Turner, but no one else.

Cbud's rookie stats are really good and he will only get better, IMO....

    lets setup a scenario....

    lets say ariza shot 45% fg% and 40% 3p%

lets say the clippers had drew gooden signed for a 3yr/18 mil deal.

would you trade ariza for gooden's contract and their #8?

yeah the trade has been disappointing the past couple seasons since battier has fallen off a cliff with his shooting, but at the time this is how the trade looked. Don't just rewrite history and act like we didn't get rid of worthless swift in the battier trade.

Real high bbiq and developing player. Plays very, very hard and even though methodical, has a good feel of where to be and what to do.

    Wow.

You're one of my favorite posters, but you sometimes say things for effect, things that I can't believe that you really believe.

Still, my take here is that someone I respect thinks Bud will be pretty damn hot stuff.

In Chad Fords latest mock draft that came out today, he claims Portland currently at #22 is trying to move up to #19 or higher to be in a position to draft Alabi. Alot of teams that have drafted well in the past (Spurs, Celtics, Raptors, Thunder and Heat) are very interested in this kid. Its probably pretty likely Alabi starts to vault up most teams draft boards a few days before the draft.

I happen to think Alabi is underrated at this point. I was hoping either him or Sanders fell to the 2nd round and we could buy a shot at them.

On another note, I actually think Nocioni is a more effective 2 way player at the 3 than either Ariza or Battier. IMO, a trade of Nocioni plus the #5 for one of those two plus our #14 is a steal for us.

I'm still wondering about the Pekovic trade. What if it's true and we have to give our #14 and get back #23? Then what move can we make after that?

I just don't think Favors or Cousins is a guaranteed star player, and if there is no guarantee of that, or even a great feeling that they will, then I would rather stay pat with Cbud.

Personally, I believe CBud is Rick Adelman's new Peja.......and we desperatly need that...

NBA Draft: Solomon Alabi could be your 7'1" energy guy
Mon Jun 14,2010 11:55 AM ET By Kurt Helin
When drafting a project big man in the first round -- someone like Florida State's Solomon Alabi -- the key question has to be work ethic. Is he going to be happy just to make the NBA and luxuriate in the perks that come with the job, or does he genuinely want to get better?

David Thorpe, Executive Director of the Pro Training Center and ESPN analyst, worked out Alabi and in an interview at Raptors Republic gave him about the highest work ethic honor you could -- comparing him to Joakim Noah.

Noah is the same player in practice you see on the court in games, and that kind of relentless effort makes a team work harder ad play better.

"I think Alabi, like Noah, has the chance to be that kind of guy," Thorpe said.

The NBCSports.com mock draft has Alabi going at No. 25 to the Hawks (who could certainly use a shot-blocking center). He may have moved up since the NBA Draft Combine and some reportedly impressive workouts, maybe going as high as 19 to Boston.

Alabi had a good athlete, he measured taller than anyone in the combine -- 7'1" with a 7'5" wingspan. However, he is not fast, he was the slowest player at the combine, and finished dead last in the lane agility drill.

Yet the scouts love him. In part because he has a good offensive game, Thorpe saying he has a consistent jumper out to 18 feet. He could come in and be a bench big you can run the pick-and-pop with and get some defense.

Alabi is very raw with his offensive moves in the post. And the native Nigerian only started playing basketball at 15, so there are questions about how high his ceiling really is.

But an energy guy who is a legit center who can block shots and has a midrange game? And comes with incredible energy? This may be a project worth taking on.

Its more like nt being able to properly sink his hips. When i was at swt, we had to do 9's. 9 times, sideline to sideline in 27 seconds after practice. They brought in snake aka charles austin who was a friend of mine already, and he had to show some of the guys how to run and drop their hips. Alabi is not a quick toothpick kind of player nor is he a lumbering type either. He's more mechanical and methodical like bynum in a sense. When you get a guy that long playing with that kind of energy on a team with offensive options, i think he would be a great fit right now and going forward.

I would prefer that we trade Shane or Trevor before CBud, I think he will ultimately prove to be a better player than both of them.

Not sure why you keep harping on how these college players "aren't guaranteed" while pimping CBud. How is Budinger any more likely to be a star than any player in the draft?

Please provide some sort of tangible proof from respected NBA source(s).

Because we all know how good your star senses are, DD. *cough*VSpan*cough*Wafer*cough*Landry(you thought he'd suck)*cough* :) :)
