I'm actually kinda curious to see what happens . I don't believe MDA is just ****ing with us . I also don't think he's an idiot . Agree with all of his decisions or not .... this dude is a bonafide NBA coach . My question is .... what is MDA seeing in practice / has seen in preseason that makes him wanna give MCW this chance ? Most of us here thought he looked good during the preseason... although we know it's just the preseason..... all things considered equal you would rather a player play well than play poorly in it . So maybe MCW was playing injured these first few games and now he will be more effective ? The reason why you have to think there MUST be something MCW is showing MDA is because MCW is the polar opposite of a player that dantoni would choose to fit his system . MDA doesn't think the guy can shoot . He might think he will take them if open .... but I don't think he's expecting him to make 40% . All joking aside , MDA is a genius . He's not always right ... but sometimes he stumbles onto some pretty effective things . I say there is about a 20-30% chance MCW stuns CF tomorrow and has a good game lol.
I think they are putting too much pressure on him too soon. He hasn’t adjusted to our style of play. I think he can be useful, but I don’t love how Mike is approaching his game. He should never play PG, for instance.
I think MDA is a better than average coach, but I'll tell ya up front that I am not an MDA fan... I believe he inflates his offensive stats (at the detriment to defense and post season preparedness) - so he will be viewed as some offensive genius... I think he's stubborn and thinks he's smarter than everybody else... He constantly has me scratching my head with some of the narratives he tries to push... His short rotations... again, i think thats just him trying to inflate his numbers (at the detriment of running down the starters and not developing a third of his bench) - prior to game 6 against the SAS he was defending his short rotations and said people that have an issue with it "dont know what they're talking about" - then game 6 happened.... after which he said he'd have to look at possibly resting harden more in the future for the post season... The next season harden sat like 2 games... he averaged like 1 minute a game less than the previous year... toward the end of the season he got into a shooting slump... MDA attributed it to "too much rest".... still trying to justify running him into the ground the year before... After GG came in and got immediate playing time due to injuries and lit it up... MDA said GG wouldn't see more time as guys returned because "the rotations are what they are.." Thankfully, someone musta slapped him bc that stance didnt last long - lol... Ariza got run into the ground - look at his mpg during December of last year... Everybody wanted to say he was as much a driving force on the tenacious d as Bigglydick last year - hows that carrying over this year wo Jeff around? Mike is a good at the X's and O's on the offensive end - but he has no clue on proper minute mgmt - although I will concede he's doing better this year... You mentioned MCW looked good in the preseason - so did Melo... GG loked great the other night... MCW got chopped to what? 2 minutes or something - but now he's gonna start? I believe this is just another stubborn move by MDA... he's decided that Melo and GG are part of the 2nd unit - and he aint gonna change that - even if it means starting MCW... smh...
Boston started Shane Larkin for two games. It's one game with MCW and he'll probably play like 15 minutes.
What do Michael Jordan, Vince Carter and Jason Williams do better than Michael Carter Williams? My column:
