You know, we sure ain't gettin' the call at the TC. I certainly would take it, because that means the Rockets would have 41 games called in their favour a season, instead of 2.
well...on intial replay..the angle wasnt clear...but after the next timeout...they showed it multiple times from other angles and it was clearly behind the line.. xiki, Im unclear on what you mean....do you have a bittorrent application installed? (just in case you arent familiar with bittorrent) the link is to a torrent file...when used with a bittorrent program, it downloads the file from multiple peers that have it...and then all you need is the xvid codec to play the avi file.
I saw it on ESPN as well and noticed the clear gap between his foot and the line. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I heard Tom Tolbert say "that was a good call" during the replay as if he thought the reversal was correct.
go try reffing some games before you go off on these guys. It's pretty freakin tough to do. Even the best with the most experience will make mistakes.
I pretty much filter out Tom Tolbert's voice...entertaining when eh clowns on himself, but if he's trying to talk basketball, I pretty much dismiss it...even if it is about what seems like an obvious call...
This is where my idea for a touch sensitive line comes in. It would work for out of bounds and the three point line. Say every two-three inches you have a tocuh sensitive spot. If someone stands on that spot, a little red light will come on. It would be kind of like the red light behind the backboard. The ref would be able to tell if said player stepped on the line. And players would also know if they are on the line or not.
chow_yun_fat All sports are rigged by Vegas. Not too sure how many of you guys know this... Now that is funny...I live out here in Vegas and I can assure ALL sports are NOT rigged by the sports books.
I don't fault the refs for not seeing his foot. The fact that they missed it just shows that they're human. But what they did wrong was reverse the call. If they say, "I didn't see his foot. I don't know if it was a 2 or 3," then they should leave the play as it was initially called. They didn't do that. They reversed it without grounds for doing so. THAT's what irks me. -- droxford
ok i'd love to referee some games, sign me up. i never said it was easy and i understand mistakes, which is why im not blasting anyone from the MLB or the NFL. i'm talking about total bullsh!t in the approach alot of these guys take to the game. if you don't think these guys make a ton of terrible judgement calls having nothing to do with human error then i think you're delusional.
I wish referees gave press conferences. A lot of the time, the real complaint of fans is the lack of transparency, not the actual quality of officiating.
agreed, esp when they do have the power to review, you would think they would do whatever it takes to make the right call...yah whatever that means.
Basically the head of the crew told the other ref: "You didn't see where his feet were, because I told you so". This kind of mistakes are inexcusable and the league has to hold refs accountable.
