The Nets looked at it as a punishment. If I'm not mistaken, he was sent down after sleeping in and coming late to practice. Before that he was playing in New Jersey. I think they ruined the dleague for him.

I agree though. If he wasn't playing here, and Adelman had no plans of playing him, he should have been in the dleague.

No , I dont believe the players have a choice. If they are in their first or second year they can be sent to the D league willing or not.

And Not likely equals Not paid .... breach of contract.

Pure speculation but I think the rockets are out of the playoffs run. Again, pure speculation.

Seriously, youre reaching here bro. Players can't refuse a move to the d league. Theyre under contract if you didn't know.

Terrence did get his shot at earning a spot in the rotation, but he lost his playing time due to -

-Played outside of the system, and did not execute his role on offense
-Weakness(poor shooting) was majorly exposed and exploited two games in a row. He then became a liability to the offense, and had to be pulled from the game two games in a row.
-Tweeting nonsense and displaying his objection to getting only garbage minutes by pouting on the court during those minutes after he was pulled from the normal rotation.

So 2 out of 3 reasons are basketball related, and have nothing to do with Adelman having personal issues with Terrence. Seems likely enough that he just isn't that good of a basketball player for that third strike to NOT take him out of the rotation and off the active roster.

Me too i thought Adelman just didn't like Twill for his system, Twill being dramatic doesn't help the either, I feel that Twill has too much value for us in the sense that he could be the piece that nets us a super star, Adelman wants to win every game possible and there just is no room for development.

Of course, it could just be that T-Will isn't healthy:

    http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/7512344.html

    [rquoter]Williams out for year
Forward Terrence Williams, 23, who has played in just 11 games with the Rockets and has been inactive for the past eight because of complications following surgery for lower abdominal distress, will not be available for the final three games of the season.

After an examination Tuesday, Williams, 6-6, was told he would need to wait another seven to 10 days to be cleared to resume workouts.[/rquoter]

They've been real hush-hush about this surgery he had -- which is understandable since it is his private business. But, T-Will might be getting more flak than he deserves because the extent of his injury/recovery is unknown.

In any case, there'd have been no point to send him to D-League in the last 8 or next 3 games, because he isn't healthy enough to play. Who knows, maybe he wasn't himself in games prior to that due to whatever 'distress' he was suffering from.

A truly astute observation - the guy is not called "ThaBust" for nothing. As for Williams not playing, I should care why?

While true, do you really think that Morey is going to send someone to the D-League who is opposed to the move? That will just hurt both parties. I think the likely scenario is Morey approaches players about the opportunity and explains how it would benefit them; if they're open to it, they are sent down.

Count me amongst the group that is skeptical about TWill's "injury."

Playing in the D-league is not going to help Williams' game. He could tear up the D-league without improving anything. He doesn't need to hone his skills like Thabeet. He needs to learn to play within the system, which he either refused to or was unable to.

Why does the D-League have to be about honing ones skills? TWill's biggest weakness is his inability to fit in the offense. Why wouldn't 30 MPG playing in the same offense not help him?

I've said this before, but if I was Morey, I would've told him: "You're going to the D-League. I don't care how many triple-doubles you get, you're not being brought back up to the Rockets until you prove you can run and play within the motion offense."

    ^This.

The Vipers run the same system that the Rockets do and T-Will needs to demonstrate he is willing and able to play within the system. The Rockets should bring him to training camp next year and give him a chance to show that he can do this with the Rockets. If he has not done so by the beginning of the NBA regular season, he should be sent to the RGV Vipers until he either figures it out or until his contract expires, whichever comes first.
