less than 1 person out of every 100 has problems with their PS3 1 out of 3 people with a 360 run into problems you do the math
and yet the PS3 still lags far behind in the monthly hardware sales charts...why do yall think that is? because there are so many great games on the 360. I'm on my second 360, and I couldn't care less...I would never give up the console, because there are so many things to constantly play on it hardware failure should not be anywhere near your #1 concern when buying a console IMO. I love my PS3 hardware-wise, but it sure as hell gets a lot less play time than my 360 (although it does get used more than my Wii at least). I just think it's super silly when I see some random people actually refuse to buy a 360 just cause of its failure rate, which is covered by a 3-year warranty anyway besides, if you're in Houston, just buy it from Costco. that's what I do
I honestly don't have enough time in my life at the moment to play all those games anyways. So it's not important whether there's a huge extensive library of games anyway. I play my games once or twice a week and when I do I'd like the best experience possible. That means no problems. 1080p graphics and being able to kick back and watch a BluRay movie is the ideal system for me. So far I have one game (nba 2k8) and 7 BluRay movies, and I haven't even gotten to 5 of them.. No time!
well apparently Blu-Ray movies are very important to you, so obviously the PS3 is the right system in your case but to the vast majority of *gamers*, I'd say that "a huge extensive library of games" would be the #1 criterion
Wow.. I had no idea these next-generation systems had so many problems. The newest system I have is a GameCube, and I haven't had any problems with that at all.
I agree. I have an hour tops to myself when I get home. Rachet and Clank was bad enough when it came out. I neglected so much to get that thing done. Now, I still have a good online FPS, kick ass puzzle fighter, Madden online, and the fun and difficult Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Throw in some Mortal Kombat every now and then and that's still too much. I understand a lot of people get to play a lot more and thus would need more content. I guess it's personal.
If a huge extensive library of games = exclusive FPS's, I would agree. Otherwise, no. The 360 doesn't have anything outside of FPS's that set it apart from the other systems. I'm not a big fan of FPS's, hence, why I don't have a 360 yet. That and the reliability problems are frightening. I don't want to purchase a console and worry if the system is going to break every time I turn it on. When it does break, not if, I don't want to send it back to MS for a refurbished unit thats going to RROD on me again. Flush, repeat. This is why some people go through up to 8/9 360's.
Dito, Blue Dragon might be the only exclusive on XBox360 that would make me want to purchase it at sometime in the future, but compare with MGS and the FF series, there's just no contest. I also bought a PS3 instead of XBox360 due to reliabillity concerns, as seen with my luck, it's a pre-cautio nI have to take
exaggerate much? you know you can make your points without hyperbole and extremes...that's why everyone here thinks you're so biased. what percentage of people go through 8-9 units? lol anyway, let's not get into the whole FPS-only debate again, that is old outdated news. let me guess...you're only a fan of jap rpgs? if so, then make your bed with the PS3 of course
I said some, did I say the average or most consumers go through 8/9? If your a hardcore gamer, you would know this is a fact by skimming the "my xbox 360 died and I lived to tell the story" thread on neogaf. Unfortunately, you saw the 8/9 numbers and got upset. Upset enough to try to discredit me, then call me biased Everyone can think I'm biased, I probably am a little, I don't really care. You know what's worse than someone who is biased? Someone who fakes impartiality. I'm not talking about you kepow, so don't take any offense. At least, when I have any faults with any of my sytems, I have the balls to call them out on it. I don't sit around singing it's praises like it's the best thing on earth and trash everything else. I don't have a hidden agenda unlike some posters.
I don't know if I'd go to the same extreme as chow_yun_fat (360 only has shooters), but I can understand how fans of certain genres may not find anything of interest with the 360 lineup. Fans of Japanese RPGs (and a few other genres that aren't shooters, like strategy games) may actually prefer the 360's lineup at this point. However, for people that may want to play a good platformer, a good adventure game, or a good action game (ala GOW or Ninja Gaiden), then I could see how someone may not really care for the 360's lineup all that much. You know the library is desperate for some of these games when people start thinking Conan is a good game. Some of the other genres are probably about the same on both platforms (fighting, racing, sports, etc.). I'd definitely give the edge to the 360 in terms of overall library, but I personally see them about the same (of course, then I'd probably be more concerned about hardware reliability, among other things).
