Not a liar, but definitely a revisionist. His treatment of the original trilogy with the Special Editions and DVDs is proof enough.

Then again, he also claimed in an interview last year that he always intended Greedo to shoot first and that Luke and Leia were always gonna be siblings, so yeah, dude is a liar. :D

The discussion with my friends of 9 movies is as clear as day to me. It was no later than 1981. I remember because some dork wanted me to play dungeons and dragons, and I did, and I tried to kill one of my party members and they never let me play again. But we discussed the 9 movies of Star Wars that day. So if something was daid he said it very early on.

I wish there could be another "trilogy", but I don't see how. What would it be about? Han & Leia's kids, sure, but how could it tie into the other stories? What would be left for plot? After ROTJ: no more Emperor. No more Anakin. Pretty much all the loose ends tied up... Anyone know how you could even start a story?

Lucas (Edit: or whoever) has written a lot of Star Wars books and not all of them are about the first and second trilogy. I think Luke went on to start some Jedi school in one of the series. In the others I don't even think Luke, Vader and rest of the crew are in or even mentioned. I don't think anyone would have a problem coming up with the material. I hope they do some more one day.

Hugo award winning author Timothy Zahn wrote a great trilogy about an Imperial Grand Admiral named Thrawn returning from the Unknown Regions and wrecking shop on the new government set up by the Rebel Alliance. There is a ton of material out there that has already been written that can be adapted to the screen, and I am almost positive that this will not be the last Star Wars movie. You just don't stop making movies in a series when every single one of them is in the top 20 grossing films of all time. Making SW movies is like a license to print money.

according to the books the emperor never really dies in ROTJ it was just a clone. In order to destroy the dark side luke joins the dark side and leia has to help him come back to the good side. also chewbacca dies and Anakin Solo is born. im sure lucas can make a plot with this.
