The teams that will be "contenders" for the next 6 years Houston(Yao/McGrady young, Scola, Harris, Landry, Brooks) Portland(Oden, Roy, Aldridge etc.) Lakers(Kobe 29, Gasol, Bynum, Farmar, Turiaf) Utah(Boozer, Williams) New Orleans(Paul, West, Chandler, Bonzi ) Suns, Mavs, and Spurs will get old and go into rebuilding. Do you think this is correct?
Our future doesn't look too bright past 3 seasons. Lakers look pretty good with Gasol (who is young) and Kobe (who's not that old). Portland Trailblazers, if they can keep Roy/Aldridge/Oden together, will be the future of the league without question. Book it.
I don't think you should rule out the Mavs just yet...when you have an owner like Mark Cuban then they don't need to rebuild. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see them at the bottom of the west. I do agree with the rest of your predictions though.
i think the sonics will be very good in about 3 years. you get another 2 players around durant and its over.
parker will get his bone spur fixed and they spurs will be good again. hope this isn't a 6 year jinx for the rockets
There are certain teams that are going to always be contenders because they have the money and management that expect them to win. San Antonio, Dallas and Los Angeles are going to be contenders as long as Duncan, Dirk and Kobe are elite players. Kobe and Dirk are both in their late 20's and still probably have another 7 or 8 seasons of being big time players. Tim Duncan is only like 32 or 33 and still probably has another 5 years. I don't think Young teams grown into great NBA teams. The Traillblazers should trade some of their young talent for some solid NBA players that have been in the league for at least 4 or 5 years. I thought the Chicago Bulls were about to become a great young basetball team and they have completley imploded. I think you have to be very mature to go through an 82 game regular season and then a two month playoff.
I think you're probably right. Looks like a watered down Lebron situation. The only difference is KDurant might never see the playoffs for 5 years.
Seattle wont be elite good for five years. They may contend for a playoff spot in three years. They have a total of six first round picks the next three years. Two in each year. They could always package picks to move up. I think the Rockets window is about four years left. Then have a good decent young core, but I don't know if they have that superstar player. Portland will be good with Roy, Aldridge and Oden if gramps stays healthy. And they have JARRETT JACK#@#! Utah will be good.
the suns mavs and spurs will go into rebuilding mode. i agree with that. i woldn't count portland as a contender yet. maybe in a few seasons wen the players develop...definitely not now and for the next 6 years. the lakers will be there, the hornets will be there, and the rockets will be there (if healthy).
Blazers still need some pieces before they jump to the top of the conference. If some of their foreign guys turn into players, then they'll be tough. I'm not sure how they can keeping oden/Aldridge/Roy together for more than 4 or 5 years will be tougher than people think.
?I agree with you on the Mavs and Suns, but I dont think NO will be that good just because they have no inside post up person.. CHandler is just a guy who scores 80% of his points off of alley-oops...
the skill level boozer and williams are already at is a bit scary, that can be dominating for years as their games improve
The next 4 to 6 years are all about the Rockets baby, this team knows how to win now....add in Yao, and BOOM SHAKA LACKA !!! Champions... DD
