Anything that doesn't involve Jeremy Lin getting more shots is selfish to them. you're wasting your time

or, if the team wins, but Jeremy doesn't score, the win doesn't mean a thing.

I don't get "that" fanbase. Yuck.

Not at all. Not response worthy.

Make your prediction on what happens today.

Not. More like brothers. We disagree quite often and very vehemently but when we agree it's overpowering. And when he is doo dooed on I'll defend him because he's got a great basketball knowledge base. ;)

    Make your prediction.

I predict Lin doesn't get traded and you get a metric ***t ton of "I told you so" replies as this thread digresses even deeper.

Dude - the number of posts I have on this board does not change the weaselly nature of your post.

But then, if you actually think people go to anonymous message boards for respect, then being intellectually dishonest could be the lesser of your problems.

I think part of it is that there is such belligerence (from both sides) that Lin fans, of which I am one, can find the victory unsatisfying. Lin is a good basketball player...no-one does what he did without ability. After a good win, among the regular BBall talk there is the obligatory, "Brooks should get more minutes", "Beverly showed why he's starting over Lin" "We should trade Lin and get ____(fill in the blank).
The average Lin fan DOES overstate Jeremy's ability, but the average Lin detractor understates it.
So I'll counter your "Yuck" with the fanbase that looks to diminish Lin's contributions as an "I don't get it that" also.

I will play the game Jopat...

I don't think anything happens today. If anyone is dealt soon, I think it will be Dmo or Gsmith.

Asik needs to realized that contributing 18 solid minutes a game is in his best interest (and his been the whole time). He gets dealt in February for an impact player. Sadly, I think we will have to attach a 1st at that point. Brightside is that should still be enough value to get someone good.

I can very easily see DMo/Smith traded today regardless of whether Lin or Asik move.

I didn't think as much of the LOF stuff until I actually went to a game. Against the Clippers. Let's just say Lin sells a loooooooooooooot of tickets; at least 20% of the crowd was of Asian heritage (I'll guess mostly Chinese and Taiwanese).

I admit Lin's followers might have shown up for that particular game for the same reason I did: if you're gonna pay to watch the team, go watch them play against somebody good.

But it's clear without Jeremy Lin on the team the team's followers, tepid as they may be (the Toyota Center other than the Red Rowdies is like sitting in a studio portrait), would be even worse. Especially while g.d. football is still going on.

I sat in section 4-0-something. The only non-Asian. I'm not being racist, I don't want to read that from anyone here, I'm just saying, we all know who worships Jeremy Lin by and large (and I can certainly understand it, Asians in our four major sports are vastly under-represented).

However, the Lin groupies (male and female alike), did the following, in this order:

    (1) Cheered for Lin
    (2) Talked on their cell phones
    (3a) Cheered for the Clippers
    (3b) Cheered for the Rockets

So I understand the divide. Lin's fans show up / tune in to see their boy.

The rest of us generally want him to succeed. We love him when he's aggressive but grate our teeth in those games when he reverts to Mr. Overthinker / Dribble Into the Teeth of the Defense and Look Lost (or whatever happens).

Maybe we fixate on his mistakes more because he got paid on Linsanity and makes 5x more money to make his mistakes (this year, and probably 15x more next year) than Beverly does to commit his own bonehead no-assist-point-guard plays.

Once again, the prediction isn't about Lin. It's about the Rockets and what they are doing/going to do.

LOL. I'd love for you to be right.

But as much as I love the Rox I predict they lose tonight and TJones gets absolutely blasted by David West.
