This kind of already happened in one of the other games too. It's not the first time they tried to intentionally foul Yao and the refs didn't call it. I tried to point that out but I guess I am no Will.
MR. M, Will has the will to post a thread. He picks his spots, he shoots, and he scores. Few of us have the will to be Will. I certainly don't. (although I may be better equiped in some areas! my wife might say so, but then I'd have to ask how she knew... )
I know we all say this, but imagine if Yao would get half of the calls...We'd be un-beatable... I did like that though, payback is a b*tch...
You know what is even better than to witness Karma happened right before our eyes : Sloan decides to send tapes of that last 6 seconds to Stern and demands a full investigation!
LOVED IT! They are just slappin' at his wrist, over and over and no call. It's enough to AK shed a tear (but , what isn't?)
I'll go back & watch it on DVR. I saw the no calls as they tried for the intentional foul, but I didnt pay THAT much attention.
Oh, speaking of which, yesterday, Fran Blinebury had a chat on Chron.Com & I posted a question & he actually answered. I paraphrase: LAYGO: What do you make of the lack of calls (read hack) for the Rockets against the Jazz? FRAN: Stop whining.
Has there every been a writer who loathed his readers as much as Blinebury? The guy is a jerk, but he thinks he's being witty and objective.
wonder what would the refs have done had one of the jazz pulled a finley and actually stripped the ball while boozer was slapping him? Would they have continued to swallow their whistle?
Yeah yeah, and if a frog had wings he wouldn't bump his back end a' hoppin'. Imagine how good Hakeem would have been. It was the same way. It's really the only thing about Yao getting hacked that makes me feel better about it, that I've seen it before. Of course, it could be a rocket stigma/predjudice, but I tend to think the big men just have to take the abuse. *shrugs*
Ok, went back & watched the entire 4th quarter again. After reading the news & whatnot on it, I guess I never really paid attention to how close we were to blowing it, but for some reason I was not anxious. I guess I knew we wouldn't lose. Watching the moments: - lose ball, Rafe jumps out of bounds to get it, TMac on the back cut layup AND ONE! YESSSSS! - The missed free throws. Noooo! - TMacs juke & jive dipsy-doodle. YESSSS! I think Giricek tried to flop. I watched several times over & there wasn't enough contact. I don't think he got his feet crossed either. - Final shot: the 3 Jazz in the post all signaled for goal tending & EVERYONE stopped like the fully expected a whistle. Had Yao gone any higher for the ball, there'd be a legitimate concern. WOOF! Otherwise, great ending.
glynch, I figured out that when I set my DVR to record a game, I need to add at least 20 minutes to insure getting all of the damn thing. The typical time the menu says the game will last simply isn't enough. Just an FYI. (and I've been screwed before during overtimes, but what the hell)
Yeah I have been doing the same thing... most of the time I choose a half hour after... what's the worst I get, the post game show
