My 2 cents- Like the logos, LOVE THE SILVER and BLUE....hated the red & yellow (when we had them) hated the new when we got them, doesn't make sense to go retro, since most HATED the old colors any way (they are only better because a) What the Represent And 2)better than that stupid smiley rocket) I think we should move FORWARD and the silver & blue is the right way to do it! (ok, 12 cents)
I don't think that would be something that they would put on their site.

I designed a rocket that's almost a copy of the prior rocket except no face, but anyways I added it to the logo.

Oooooh I like FrancisFan, very nice! It looks very dynamic now that you have added the rocket. I like it!
That is sweet!!! I was just wondering if there is anyway to make the buildings look a little more like the houston skyline. Are there any unique buildings in downton that you could use?
There are some distinctive Houston buildings, but only to Houstonians, so they probably wouldn't add too much. You can always look here http://www.houstonmetropolis.com/downtown.htm the guy from that site has posted here before. in terms of known buildings, there is also Transco/Williams tower, the Wells Fargo building (which I beleive is the tallest curved glass building in the world), the Chase building (tallest in Houston and Texas, tallest five sided building in the planet), and the Texaco Heritage Plaza with its recognizable top and the Bank of America building with it's neat art-decoish design (probably my favorite looking skyscraper downtown). But I think it's fine the way it is. If the Rockets organization liked it enough (unfortunately I already have the feeling that whatever they come up with will be worse), they could tinker with the buildings and whatnot. edit: here is a good picture of downtown for non-houstonians, from the west side of town looking east
I like the new logo! Not to be picky, but I would lose the buildings and clean up the text making it a little more sharp/bold and possibly adding blue for some color. Ok so that was pretty picky. Nice job though. Its getting there....
Thanks Rocketeer, that's a huge compliment coming from the graphic god.

NJRocket - I don't think that it would look right with the arena on the logo.

JayZ - I'll use some of those bulings and hopefully post it tomarrow before noon.

PS I think that what the logos are the buildings.
No offense to JayZ, but I think downtown looks the best coming from the North where you can see NationsBank, er, BoA better:
you bastid... From your picture I could imagine having the Chase Building on the left, the BoA building in the middle and the Wells Fargo Building on the right replacing those currently on FrancisFan's logo. One thing to maybe keep in mind is that some of these buildings may get press from a logo of this nature, and we know that nothing comes free these days...another reason why generic skycrapers may be best.
i was thinking that the Rockets could get some money off of putting the building on the logo becuase they'll be people with a pic of their tower on people's hats, shirts, and basically everything else.

Forget about the naming rights of the new arena, this could make even more money.
IMO, Don't try to duplicate either of those buildings... there is absolutely nothing special about them or anything that makes them stand out. Take it from someone who is in NYC everyday(im sure anyone else who works in a large city would agree)...use a generic skyline because thats what you will get if you duplicate those bldgs... i hope that didnt come off as too critical because the logos are fantastic...just my take on it
No that's all right.

I think that you may be right becuase if I added the buildings it would just make the logo look wierd and take the attention off the rocket.

I think that I probably shouldn't change the buildings, but maybe add some different shading that may make them look better.
