You're. My comment was no real challenge. Your title should have read 'My nephew got taken (or took) by a used car dealer'. Getting taken in means that someone is helping him out by giving him a place to stay.
And yet, I wasn't commenting on your point, (as right as it might be)but your attempt at wit you used to illustrate it failed miserably.
Why do parents let their kids grow up to be r****ds? I didn't make the greatest decisions at 19, but if your kid thinks 25% interest on a car loan is acceptable, you have failed as a parent.
At 19 he must be doing pretty good for himself to understand all that. I'm 37 and at times I still don't have a clue.
Meh, I make jokes for myself. If you weren't amused, no biggie. I'll be here all year try the beef tips.

For the rate, you can always try to get it refinanced if he's not too upside down. Most national lenders have a refinancing business. If major banks wont touch it or gives him the same rate (he is a 19 yo with no credit history), go to your local bank or credit union that you have some strong banking relationship with and see if you can get it lowered. If he has warranty or something, cancel it, which will help the financing amount. Also explain to him that a 25% APR on $20K means almost $5k a year in just interest, and he can REALLY live it up with that money in a few years.
It kills me when young adults are still considered children. He made his bed now let him sleep in it. How is he ever going to learn when everyone fixes his screw ups?
Hi risk loan? (I secrectly wish the OP was Hotballa so I could say "roan". Well, not so secret anymore. )
When I think of "taken in", I think of two things. Being provided housing, or being arrested. So, from the thread title, I thought OP's nephew was "taken in" to the police station BY the car dealer.
