Wow Jeff, that is seriously a gorgeous house. I always love homes with character and history. I wish i was living in Houston to buy this place. Good luck to you.
Thanks everyone. Had 2 showings this weekend and a couple just randomly stop by today. The people today were really nice and seem interested. Man, I'd love for someone to use my realtor. It would save me some $$$.
Actually, it's more like $600k in Santa Clara Co. Prices have gone down quite a bit the last couple of years.
Well, if you don't want to buy and would rather rent a beautiful house near lovely Oak Forest, email me through the board. 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 car garage. Washer/Dryer included. Refridgerator too. Built in microwave and dishwasher as well. And a fireplace. Also, it has a hot tub on the deck in the back yard. Come on, guys. This WILL get you laid. On a frequent basis.
What are you renting it for? I have two more showings so far tonight, but I think that may turn into 3. My realtor said he spoke to a bunch of other agents yesterday and today and expects a bunch of showings between now and the end of next week. He says there is definite interest. Woot!
Haha, you are going to try to compare the property value of Dallas to the Bay area? Maybe if we lived in imagination land.
Good luck on the deal! I guess we can only envy the living standards there. It's less than HK$2mil and in Hong Kong you can only buy an apartment less than 400 sq. ft. You property agent should have used your photos in Flickr. They are more lively and sunny.
I'm still trying to decide which property management company I'm going to use. I have it narrowed down to 3 of them. After I pick one, they'll help me decide a good rental rate and I'll for sure let everyone here know...
Nice house. If there is one good thing about where I live it is that the property values are relatively low compared to bigger market but I guess that is understandable. At the same time, I am less than an hour away from a major metropolitan area (Memphis) thanks to the new Interstate and I remember from my numerous trips to Houston that is can take more than an hour to get from one part of the Houston metro area to the other. Here are some pics of the house we are in the process of purchasing for $115,000. It's 2144 sq. feet with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, kitchen, dining room, laundry room, 2 living areas, deck, and a little more than an acre of land. After the three inspections, it only needs some painting and a new toilet stopper. I thought $115K was a steal for the property, even in this location. No telling how much this would go for in a bigger market.
