Whether he's convicted on these charges or not I don't think much difference other than those who want to magnify this into something that it really isn't.
When you apply for a gun license you have to have an ID that has your address on the ID. Hunter used his passport for his primary ID which does not have an address. The gun store owner claims that biden then used a car registration as his secondary ID cuz car registration has your address on it. On box 18b on the form that @Os Trigonum provided the box where you put secondary ID on box 18b id blank yet the owner claims he wrote car registration on it. Which one is it then? Did the owner improperly fill the form without checking his proper ID or did he alter the form?
My point being is @Os Trigonum portrays himself as this moderate independent who only spews facts yet all he does is lie and spin whatever he can to help trump. He never mentioned once in this thread that the form is INCOMPLETE (which meant the application wasnt legally complete) or it has been tampered with which is illegal . The entire right wing ecosystem just lies and spews disinformation 24/7 cuz they know the average person is turned out and not paying attention. The gun store owner said under oath that he wrote car registration in box 18b. If this is the form hunter signed why isn't what the gun owner wrote in box 18b there? Why is the box incomplete?? Which one is it? Did the store not properly fill the form out as required by law or did the owner lie? Why can't you answer the simple question. This isn't a topic that I've followed closely and unlike some I don't claim expertise or feel the need to pontificate on every topic. Bcz the significance is that they're claiming hunter lied on his application but the application is not the same as what the gun owner said he filled out. The gun owner swore in court that he wrote car registration in box 18b but the box is blank. If the box is blank then how do we know the form is even legit? How do we know that Hunter signed that form when the gun store owner is saying something he did that isn't on the form? It calls into question the entire form and it's authenticity
The reason I thought it’s not relevant is because the defense is NOT arguing, AKAIK, that Hunter didn’t check “no” to 11f, the Under Influence question. Maybe they could argue the form is not permissible because it might have been altered? Not a lawyer.
The defense is arguing that the form is doctored and fake and Hunter did admit his drug use on the form. They're arguing that the form the prosecutors are using as evidence is fake cuz it doesn't match up to what the gun store owner said how he filled the form.
