I’ll admit I haven’t followed this trial as closely as the Trump and am not familiar with firearm Ownership laws. Hunter Biden deserves a fair trial as anyone else but yes he’s not nor ever been part of a presidential administration and certainly wouldn’t vote for him if he ever ran.
Haven't followed the actual court case. But some observations: 1- He's not part of the government, so I don't care so much. 2- If he runs for office, he's not getting my vote (convicted or not). 3- Pro 2A folks would not want a conviction. A conviction would essentially mean that 50M+ people (use mar1juana or other controlled substance/ drug users in the US) could be subjected to a felony charge if they purchase a gun and marked 11e as "no". (i think if they mark yes, they cannot get a gun) 3a- Technically, all these 50M Americans, if they were to face charges (for 11e "no"), should be convicted. Practically, prosecutors do not bring charges unless it's part of another crime (except now it is). 4- Anti-2A folks would want a conviction. The same logic as above applies. 5- Hunter Biden cleaned up from his addiction. What is the value of these prosecutions? Not much. I think prosecutorial discretion should always consider what is the return for a conviction (not politically, but as related to the law, justice, and deterrence). For point 3, literally what Trump claims: anyone can be prosecuted apply here. It applies to these 50M Americans, whereas it doesn't apply in his case. ..... 10- have fun with this one
