When my mother died a while back, it caused me to really reflect on the impact one person has on all the people around them. My mother was an incredibly strong, loving women who raised four kids on her own, after my father died in his 40's. She made a stable, happy life for her kids, who are able to pass this on to their kids. Your grandfather sounds like the same caliber of person. Their lives are like ripples in a pond and the good in them pass through us those around us. I also know how important it is that your granddad got to meet Shannon. Even though we weren't married at the time, my wife got to meet and spend time with my mom before she died and that means the world to me and has really strengthened our bond.
