Seems like you don't understand the difference between race and culture. "Asian" is a race, not a culture. "Chinese" is a culture (although it can also be a nationality, if you're referring to something related to the nation of China). In the same sense, "American" is a culture, while "black" is not (it is a race).

So yes, by saying something particular about a certain RACE (not culture), the original poster was being racist. Not that I really don't care, just pointing out your ignorance about race vs. culture.

I met James Harden once. I told him I was horny so he gave me 300 dollars in ones and said have a nice time with a girl named Dynasty at the local strip club. He's a great guy and his beard is awesome. Sorry, no photos or actual proof it happened.

Oh god, some of you people are no fun.

It's a joke. Asians are typically cheap and/or frugal. Probably half of this site is Asian (myself included) and had a nice chuckle.

Also, "race" has a fuzzy and ever-changing meaning, so trying to get all technical about a construct/concept that is often in flux is just dumb.

 

Is there really an Asian race? Asia covers a large land size with different cultural people, all the way from India, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and obviously China.

Hence, how could you clump that as a single race?

 

Do you go up to black people and ask them for fried chicken and watermelon?

It's very interesting hearing this story because I met him in LA when I was out shopping with the wife and he wasn't that nice of a guy even after I told him I was from Houston originally and a huge Rockets fan. He seemed annoyed as hell to take a picture and wanted out of there pretty quickly.

If this story happened then he has completely done a 180 from what I have seen out of him around fans.

 

No, you are wrong. Racist is the belief that a particular race, or races are inferior.

Making a joke about Asian stereotypes is not racist.

It would be racist if you believe those stereotypes make their race inferior.
