That's the good thing about being a Soccer fan. There is always a season/league/international football somewhere going on 12 months a year.

I find it mildly funny how people on a Basketball forum, are complaining about the end of the NFL season/no more NFL games to watch while also slamming the NBA because of the brand of Basketball being played in it.

It's a Basketball forum first and foremost(albeit the hangout section). I'd expect this on a Texans or some other NFL team forum. SMH:mad:

Who was your favorite team and why do you hate them now?

The NFL is the most popular sport in this nation, by far.

NBA is a distant 5th (behind AUTO RACING) according to a recent Harris poll.

When I was a really little kid, it was the Dallas Cowboys followed by the Houston Oilers.

When the Cowboys fired Tom Landry, didn't retire Drew Pearson's number, or Tony Dorsett's number, and hired an ass for a coach, and got a bunch of players who were asses, they became my most hated team. Then the over celebrating (defensive guys dancing and celebrating after a generic tackle seemingly every single play), and all of that crap just caused me to not enjoy the game anymore. Add to that Bud Adams.

but add a poll in this site and see how many people in the US would prefer to see his NFL favorite team play over the rockets (favorite NBA team, since they are registered here for the rockets).

even the NBA knows that more people like football over basketball, thats why they only scheduled 1 game on super bowl sunday.

LOL @ people who aren't SOCCER fans. You'd have the sport ALL YEAR ROUND, QUALIFIERS, FRIENDLIES, European Leagues, Champions Leagues, local cheap league, etc.

You poor souls, you. Go see a therapist and give someone money for something you could take care of yourself! :p Haha.

    HUH?
What's that got to do with the price of tea in China???

Y'all must have misunderstood my post. Nowhere in my post did I imply that I didn't know the NFL is the most popular sport and league in the USA.

My post was about the fact that this is a Basketball forum first and foremost. The reason everyone joined this forum I imagine was because of the Rockets and not because you were all looking for a place to talk about the Texans. I figure if the latter were the case then a Texans forum would've been sought.

Anyway, no doubt the NFL is top of the sports world here. Of course NFL withdrawal would happen. Can't wait till next Sunday when there's no game at all unlike yesterday with the Pro Bowl on. Lol, what will the OP do?

They've been running this poll since 1985... and the NFL has always been #1 with MLB #2... only difference is that MLB has shown some slippage in its overall number (but still #2).

Also, to correct you, the NBA Finals (with Lebron involved) has better ratings than the World Series.

It still doesn't mean that more people around the country prefer the NBA to MLB.... and many will watch both (including myself).

However, the NBA will always be third fiddle media-wise (fourth or fifth fiddle if you include college sports)... and media coverage drives a lot of overall nation-wide interest.

You must not be a Texans fan ... Texans fans have had football-free Sundays for months.
