Have you ever read a book called Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road? It was written by the drummer for Rush about a solo motorcycle trip (Canada to Belize) he took after the death of his daughter and wife. It's depressing at first but an interesting motorcycle travelogue none the less.
I think I've heard of it. I just forgot which band member it was. I have a few friends that have jumped on their bikes and just rode their bikes, until they saw water and then turn the bike in a different direction. I never thought this could be so healing in many ways. You experience this land in a way you never could any other way. Especially, in the canyons. It's just almost dreamlike. I hope others do this and post about it. I'm wondering where my next trip is going to be. Not sure if I want to go N, S, E, or W. I know one thing. I need to save a few bucks first. Thanks for the book reference. I may like it up.
