Yeah, I was with Nextel for 3-4 years - really liked them, but once they merged with Sprint everything went downhill. Ended up cancelling and am now a happy T-Mobile customer, but I wish they would get the IPhone. Seriously considering switching carriers just to get an easy to use internet phone, which mine is not.
Sprint's customer service has always been horrible, but thankfully I've only had to actually deal with them a small handful of times in the years I've been with them. I am considering switching to a different carrier but I'm concerned about technology -- maybe I'm mistaken but Sprint supposedly has the fastest 3G network in the industry, and data speeds are important to me.
At this point in the major cities, they are all the same. VZW and AT&T are going to be using the same future technologies. VZW by far exceeds in 3G coverage. Sprint is still up in the air on what exactly they are going to do for 4G.
Because of Verizon's so-called surprise decision to join the rest of the world, Sprint PCS has no choice but to conform for 4G. Because of Vodafone's influence, Verizon's decision was not a surprise for me. When Sprint announces a decision, the whole world will be on the same page on 4G.
the customer service of TMobile is good and their phones are the coolest, but their coverage is horribly bad. no coverage in Subway STATIONS, no coverage in elevators, and minimal coverage in a room with windows.
I have Sprint and I just renewed my contract after threatening them to cancel. They gave all 3 phones on the family plan unlimited data and unlimited text. My sister and I got the centro for $100. I know I could have gotten them cheaper but I didn't want to fight anymore. I realized one thing...their customer service SUCKS until you get to the retentions department. I am going to try to call retentions for everything now in hopes of getting good service.
i only talk to retentions. ahah..when they say so sir you got transferrred here cause we are at risk of losing you..i am like yup..i couldn't take it anymore with the other customer service agents..arghh!.. (even though i dialed retentions directly) i honestly dont care about customer service. once any company gets you in a contract, they can care less. i got my account set with a fantastic plan..i aint about to ruin that. 5 Lines / 1000 Mins 7pm mins, night and weekend roaming, mobile to mobile unlimited texting on 2 lines, 500 on others Power vision on 2 lines all for less than 65 WITH tax! regular price for all that with sprint is ~150. i can only imagine with verizon or att. so yes regular customer service sucks but how many times you do need customer service anyway?
agreed. Back when 3G was a fantasy, I figured by the turn of the decade, all carriers would be merging into a single technology. I'll give it another 5-7 years before carriers will no longer be in the handset industry. It will be wonderful to buy a handset from any retailer and be able to use it on any network.
Worst customer service ever. I was a customer for 7 years and they still screwed me. TMobile has been 10 times better so far
I pay $15 for unlimited text/web and 500 minutes. I don't think I'm changing anytime soon. ETA: I have no idea how good or bad Sprint's customer service is because in the nearly five years I've been with them, I haven't had to use it. That wasn't the case with my other carriers. Not having to use customer service >>> good customer service.
Yes, but how do you get around needing a SIM card to use their crappy phones overseas? I like to get a local line wherever I go and just charge/use. Is that even possible with a Sprint phone?
So you're saying Sprint customers are not the cultured, worldly types...a bunch of Ms. North Carolina's if you will?
I personally have had Sprint since 1997 when they first arrived in Houston. I have had my ups and downs with them through out the years but I would like to say I have always come out on top and upgraded phones numerous times. On the other hand I have personally seen horror stories regarding Sprint. There are two sides to everything and some people have better success than others.
I like my sprint plan... 500 anytime minutes. Free Nights and Weekends (Starting at 7) Unlimited Text Unlimited Internet for about 18 bucks a month.
