This is very Jeremy Shockey-esque -- you are using the accusation of homosexuality as an insult. I am 100% hetero, but I do not make fun of people who are not. I suggest you do the same. I have sent *zero* emails to your Match.com profile. Please do not *lie* about that.
I am insulted that you would think that I would use homosexuality as an insult, as are my homosexual friends. Maybe it's you who should look in the mirror when it comes to looking as homosexuality as an insult. I was merely calling a spade a spade based on your posts about the upkeep of one's genital area and your habit of searching the male section of Match.com. I guess the 486 e-mails were from some other admirer. My mistake.
Of course, those are many of the same folks who believe eating a tiger's penis & whatnot will give you super sexual prowess... Sorry about the emails RM, I probably should have stopped at 482.
So now you are admitting that you were in fact insinuating that I was homosexual. You are contradicting yourself now as you attempt to cover your tracks. It's amazing what people will say when they are caught in a lie. Above is a prime example. Rocketman95 attempted to be funny and in so doing, he blatantly insinuated that I was homosexual. This was apparently some sort of 'insult' or 'cut-down' in his mind. I'm not making this up, this is plain for all to see. Then he gets called out on it and turns immediately to personal insults and more baseless accusations. Not a good day for you, RM. Your latest attempt at covering your tracks is made all the more foolish by the lack of the edit function. There is no erasing it, you are simply caught red handed. Just own up to your mistake, apologize for it, and move on. That is the right way to handle your business, not making up excuses, attempting to re-arrange words, playing the semantics game, and calling an outright lie a 'mistake'. I hope you can learn from this. Homosexuality should not form the basis of your attempts at comedy or insults.
I am not homosexual, but I think it would be funny if Rocketman95 could post his profile again. I completely missed that thread until it was too late .
reeaally? tell that to this guy.. . he seems to think that using homosexuality as a basis for his comedy is a-ok
hahaha, I hope you're joking. Rice is not 10x better than UVa. People get too caught in the rankings. I agree it's what you put into it. Maybe at MIT they make you work your ass off, but at places like Harvard there's grade inflation and all that stuff. Yeah so your coworker is a moron, or maybe he just meant in TX.
There is no covering of my tracks. The only one that's mentioned homosexuality and insult in the same post is you Trader_Jorge. I have numerous friends who are homosexual and I would never equate that lifestyle with anything negative. I am insulted at the accusation. I'm considering reporting your posts in this thread.
TJ is just being the funnyman he is. Don't get suckered into his taunts. Maybe you are like me and hitting the Tito's too much tonight. I actually think TJ is pretty funny and he keeps his cool. Something I wish I could do more of. But don't get lured into a confrontation when none is needed. I do that too much as well and I regret it later when I realize I was being played like a fiddle. Just like with women... It is better not to respond to intentional provocation.
LeGrouper, I wasn't really considering reporting his threads. I was merely poking fun at the fact that he's one of the top reporter of "inappropriate" posts in the Hangout.
The time of "all around" educations is over, regardless of school. Too bad. All we do is sell ourselves short, as evidenced by this thread. RM95, TJ, in addition to browsing your dating profile, has often used your real name when making posts on this public bbs, suugesting an attempt to create a greater intimacy with you. Perhaps it is a message that goes beyond his mere insecurity? You can dream, right?
I would generally agree with this. However, a major advantage of the elite schools, IMO the MAJOR advantage, is connections. The ratio of alumni connections & faculty connections to potential students that fit the bill from there is just much smaller. Those schools also have more built in support structures to keep students from failing. The main drawback to a Stanford or Harvard or even Rice IMO is less interaction with closer to a cross-section of peoples in the real world--could have a disadvantage in business, marketing as well as learning how to navigate and stand out in larger arenas/ bureaucracies. Still, in general I’d think the benefits outweigh that for most young people deciding on, and with the means, where to go. But I agree with the main premise if you are smart, good at what you do, and tenacious, you can pretty much reach your potential at just about any institution. If you have less going on or more of a coattailer is where the elite school may make a big difference.
