    He is trying to cope but pretty understandably rattled from the experience. He told me he was scared to go jogging now. It is terrible because the incident happened close to where he lives, on a fairly popular trail, and out in the open by a main road running parallel to the river.

    south congress hasnt been seedy since the 90's!

    i lived in travis heights in the 90's and there were prostitutes and open drug use on s. congress. i would see al jourgenson from ministry walking around there all the time, presumably looking for drugs.

    as for the story, im surprised to not see it on any local news. maybe you should go to the local CBS or NBS affiliate. if its as you say, they would definitely make a story out of this incident.

    austin cops are horribly inept and unprofessional so i wouldnt be surprised if it was true.

    that part of south congress is different. Im not talking popular soco where home slice and the continental club are. I am talking about south of that. Yes there has been some improvement but is still tons of crappy apartments and shady bullshit. Down past the mag. Crockett st and all that.

    @Vivid sorry to hear this, hope your brother gets a full recovery.

    I've noticed that conservatives now doubt anything if it goes against their political direction. Just look how they claimed the 10 year old being denied an abortion was fake news. Basically anything that runs contrary to what they want to believe now is fake
